New BBC Local Radio jingles

BBC Radio Scotland has now fully implemented their new look and logo across all platforms.
Here's a look at what the branding for the station looks like now. Their purple colour has brightened up into a neon purple.

New branding in the studio too. I like how they implement the shapes of the Scotland logo to the branding.

New Sky channels: Crime, Comedy, Documentaries, Nature

Had a mail shot for ‘Sky Essentials’ (no pill logo) last week which was Triple Play with Sky+ for £30 or similar.

I’m sure the OG non-HDR Q boxes will be the bottom rung soon enough though.

Did the logo look like this?

New Sky channels: Crime, Comedy, Documentaries, Nature

Hey Lyric, some new logos have dropped on the Sky logo site.
Somehow they made a new one for Sky+ which is a surprise to know they still have Sky+ around in 2020.

New BBC Local Radio jingles

why are they so discombobulated? and why hasn't BBC Radio London got the new jingles yet?

I was thinking the same thing about Radio London still using the old jingles.
Probably they don't like them or they don't sound London-y enough

Though if they were to be on Radio London, their slogan would be either "The sound of London" or "The sound of the capital"

Heard one of the new jingles on Radio London this evening - but it was a generic "the sound of where we live... BBC Local Radio" one, played out before Tony Blackburn's show, which goes out on a few BBC other stations in the south.

So I see Radio London is slowly warming up to the new sound of the other local BBC stations

It's at the end of this clip. Like the rest of the 2010 arrangement, it's awful.

Yeah, it is. The original version of the theme was more iconic.

Coronation Street

I just love hearing that part in the older episodes, shame they couldn't remake it for the 2010 theme.

Well, they did, it just never got used on the episodes for some reason, but it was used on the videos they posted to the website for a while.

Corrie 60th promo

Yes, they brought back the "End of Part One" jingle from back in the day.
I just love hearing that part in the older episodes, shame they couldn't remake it for the 2010 theme.
Would be nice if they remastered the original theme for the 60th anniversary episodes.

French TV

I did enjoy the music for this new moving logo though.
Reminds me of the music Alexandre Desplat composed for StudioCanal's current logo.

They recently updated this logo with a new byline "A CANAL+ COMPANY" on the bottom left next to the StudioCanal logo. Apparently it's cos StudioCanal wanted to emphasise its role in the Canal+ Group.

I'm sure one of their older logos used a byline.

New BBC One ident

I think we should reuse the 1998 idents this Christmas

They could recreate the huge bauble with CGI due to the advancements in technology 22 years later

So recently, the Canal+ Group has started rolling out a new visual identity to reflect the digital age and its growth into a global company. It features a stunning new moving logo with Norbert Gilbert, the guy who did the music for the 2009 rebrand, returning to give us a lovely bit of orchestral music with the familiar xylophone and opera vocals that represented Canal+'s brand in previous rebrands.
The new music will be used in different forms such as idents or radio ads for the Canal+ satellite service.
The 1-minute logo itself has over 2,000 LED lights forming the Canal+ logo and lighting up, the logo itself appears with a + shaped hole on the right side with lights inside, slowly revealing the Canal+ logo with the letters flashing in time with the music.

We dunno if the channel itself or its sister channels will receive the new look but according to a programme called "Le Plus" it seems likely they'll adopt this in 2021, so fingers crossed. A lovely little tease into the next evolution of Canal+'s quirky and innovative branding.

Really amazing logo animation imo

I know exactly how he feels.
Hoping he doesn't get fired for this.
