New Meridian, BBC South & South East Thread

mizzb posted:
Anyone else hear Caddy Lee Preston swearing like a soldier on South East Today just now? I'm not sure what she said because it was all bleeped. Maybe she was swearing at the poor framing that meant the graphics were almost covering part of her face. All I know is its going to be f**king sunny in the South East.

I can't believe Kaddy could do such a thing , it goes against her ginger , swattie , freckly and spotty ' Head ' girl image that she puts out so much of the time . Shocked

I can't check this out as the main show doesn't go on the net . Confused

There is very rarely any link between who presents the Five and the Ten, with the exception of Huw.

BBC News: Nations & Regions

I like the BBC News branding, but I don't like how everything is coming under BBC News.

Its like BBC London, they are trying their best to stay as they are, but BBC is dismantling it, and making it all part of BBC News.

BBC London 94.9 sounds different to BBC London TV News, and looks different to bbc.co.uk/london, but BBC London is trying to make all services come under one brand.

I think this obsession with BBC News on everything is becoming stupid.

I think there it's just a clash more than anything. When I say this I mean that since the creation of BBC London in 2001, they have constantly promoted themselves with the 'On TV, On Radio, Online' tag, to make sure their viewers and listeners know what they're getting from a tri-media service, probably the only Region to do so. Where as since April 2008 all BBC News programmes on TV prefer to be under the BBC News umbrella, and BBC London has come under this for the first time, since the days of Newsroom South East.

Although all BBC Regions to like to promote their Local Radio services and websites during their Regional News programmes/slots, BBC London seem to take more pride than any other region.

However London have tinkered with their title end board and added "ON TV ON RADIO ONLINE" in grey under BBC LONDON Wink

I'm surprised that there's been no mention of the amusing cock up on the news channel at about 5:50 with the sports presenter's mic... what an idiot

That was very funny Laughing

Emily threw to Dan Walker who had left his mic on the laptop stand, he apologised, called himself a clot, put the mic on, told Emily to relink him, and he began again!
