Not really. Politics Now( Thursday Night SMG version of Newnight SCOTLAND )is done from STV in Central Glasgow. However it is a joint effort between STV and, what is now, STV Aberdeen( it may as well be). Its' such a shame about the current state of affairs. I would not mind it if ITV1 Scotland does not happen because, for one thing, ITVplc, may be in breach of competition laws after all ~IT IS~ supposed to be INDEPENDENT television.
If SMG went ITV generic with their news they might just be able to get away with the fact that both ITV regions are getting a slightly raw deal. One thing is for sure. If it becomes ITV1 Scotland, SCOTLAND TODAY @2 will be scrapped. Plus grampian would almost certainly lose the names "grampian news" and "north tonight". It would probably become"scotland today north" or something
THOUGHTS, folks?
Scottish TV becoming ITV1 Scotland - Is it likley?
Does Grampian make its quota of regional programmes which are then shown on STV as well as Grampian (and vice versa) so it looks as if there are many "regional" programmes? If so then Grampian are I suppose technically meeting their requirements.
Not really. Politics Now( Thursday Night SMG version of Newnight SCOTLAND )is done from STV in Central Glasgow.
