Scottish TV becoming ITV1 Scotland - Is it likley?
Does Grampian make its quota of regional programmes which are then shown on STV as well as Grampian (and vice versa) so it looks as if there are many "regional" programmes? If so then Grampian are I suppose technically meeting their requirements.
Not really. Politics Now( Thursday Night SMG version of Newnight SCOTLAND )is done from STV in Central Glasgow. However it is a joint effort between STV and, what is now, STV Aberdeen( it may as well be). Its' such a shame about the current state of affairs. I would not mind it if ITV1 Scotland does not happen because, for one thing, ITVplc, may be in breach of competition laws after all ~IT IS~ supposed to be INDEPENDENT television. Rolling Eyes

If SMG went ITV generic with their news they might just be able to get away with the fact that both ITV regions are getting a slightly raw deal. One thing is for sure. If it becomes ITV1 Scotland, SCOTLAND TODAY @2 will be scrapped. Plus grampian would almost certainly lose the names "grampian news" and "north tonight". It would probably become"scotland today north" or something

SMG Official Thread.

Did anyone notice on the 6pm Scotland Today bulletin on Thursday, they used ITV NEWS correspondent Jonathan Wills in Athens? Did you notice Shereen calling him "Jonathon Mills"? That was abit embarrassing. They also used Grampians' Neil Mudie.

CNBC Europe new look?

I have to say i find cnbc europe very watchable. I especially like morning exchange end euro closing bell. Why do they use such a dated looking studio in the morning but such a nice studio in the afternoon...?

The best thing about the channel is the music - especially the headline bed for closing bell europe and the music played over the market boards - best musis on any news channel!
Very Happy It is arotating desk, so it is rotated to different positions during the day

Beeb News Blunders

itsrobert posted:
Can I just ask, why do we need all of these threads for something? This is what's wrong with this forum - in the early days, we used to have threads ad hoc - when something happened, a thread was created. Now, we have these threads springing up, which inevitably lead to inane rubbish and then arguments and abuse. Rather than creating a thread for people to post about bloopers in, why not create one when one happens?
Because then u only have one blooper and its a bit dull.....
