Not sure if it's been mentioned before (haven't read back... sorry) but the reason for the bespectacled Fiona was because she has/had conjunctivitis. Nasty!

Yes, I hear it's life-threatening... Rolling Eyes

It's just gunky eyes, basically. Still, poor Fiona anyway.

lol - life threatening for a "face of BBC One" I'm sure Wink

Yes, Breakfast should go much newsier than they are now. Breakfast was never as bad as this in 1993 - 2000 - and people were still "fragile in the morning" (as Dermot says) 9 years ago - but they certainly watched Breakfast News bulletins then.

Less lifestyle and health concern tatt, less soap gossip and OTT giggly weather presenter, and concentrate on the News and business of the day.

AT LEAST one should be able to get such an alternative on BBC News 24, if the bbc1 morning news must be continued to be diluted as it is now.

Breakfast was pitiful for its as coverage of rolling news, as usual. Another example of why News 24 should be allowed to do its own thing from 6am.

Sky News have done wonderfully - theyve had some people in the studio and correspondants at all major UK Airports reporting back lIve, as well as managers and employees from the various organisations.

Well since this thread is here, and to save starting a new one in Requests: does anyone know the name of this newscaster??

If he actually is a real BBC Newscaster?

Could he be the same person?!

From memory, it wasn't too bad even after the December relaunch, but it went really dark after they tinkered with the BBC Four set, which is opposite the main news set. Since then, the aerial camera angle changed, and everything went a lot darker! Did they knock a few lights, and didn't bother to put them back?!

Yes - i think they do need a few more lights in there! It is a bit too dark at the moment.

With more lights (not too bright) they could do what they used to do on the ten o clock news, after the titles fade the lights in from dark and at the end of the bulletin fade from dark. That would look quite good i think on World.

Strange, it must be the camera settings, but they can't be all set to dark surely?

To me its seemed a lot darker on the whole since the December 03 refresh.

ROFL @ THAT THING!!!

Shouldn't she be disqualified for contact with family and friends - no one else was allowed too?

Big Brother 5

Well the men on the whole seem a little odd - compared to what i'd expected and seen before!!

It looks as thought there will be a lot of tension!

Shame about the ongoing sound blips though.

Well even without you in there c@t, it can't be much worse than the bore that was BB4!

Side nag: I do wish Sky News would get some decent weather graphics, most of the time its just arrows or really awful paintbrush clouds. How long has that graphics system been in operation?

If they put you in c@t, there wouldn't be the need for forcing? Very Happy Wink
