If I remember correctly, TWW threw a hissy fit by ending its broadcast operations early when they found out they lost out in the 1967 franchise round to Lord Harlech.

ITV1 IDs in 2002: The Demise of Regionalism

On this day, eighteen years ago, it was the most inevitable day in ITV history. That's right, folks. 28th October 2002 was the day in which regional ITV franchise names and logos were completely removed and replaced with one single ITV1 logo. The regional names were relegated to only be shown before local programmes. Around that same time, regional continuity teams were ousted to be replaced with a single national continuity team based in London. However, the most inevitable thing that ever happened was that on this day, eighteen years ago, the regional logos and idents were all ditched to be replaced by a new batch of idents, which featured celebrities from various ITV1 shows interacting in a backstage studio environment. For me, this change was absolutely dreadful, because this day marked the start of the catalyst of changes for Granada and Carlton that would ultimately result in Carlton and Granada merging to become ITV plc two years later. This move was quite inevitable in all ways.

The reason I am asking this is because I am making a video detailing the history of LWT (from its beginnings in the 1960s until its end as a result of the Carlton/Granada merger) and I need videos of idents to help me fulfill my passion of making a documentary. If so, would any of you please submit any mock idea you might have submitted to APFS back when the site was active from the early 2000s until 2006 to this thread? Also, could you please describe what your favorite TV mocks you posted to APFS were like? Also, if you, like me, had the idea to bring APFS back in the future, could you please state your opinion on what you would want APFS to look like?

Last Carlton Midlands and Westcountry Announcements

As anyone knows, regional identity was mostly vanquished on 27th October 2002, the day before the much dreaded national ITV1 revamp went live. For one, I was also saddened to hear a Carlton Central announcer say it would be his "very last announcement" after 15 years. So, I was wondering... What were the last words each Carlton Central and Carlton Westcountry announcer said on 27th October 2002?

What was your favorite regional ITV station growing up?

I am here to ask you a simple question:
What was your favorite regional ITV station you grew up watching back in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and the early 2000s (before regionalism got quashed by the likes of Carlton/Granada)?

For me, it was Central since I live in the East Midlands. The reason was because of how they handled CITV and the endless variety of Cake idents they created and aired before Carlton became power hungry back in the 1990s.
