ITV probably wouldn't want to pay for it, its hardly a ratings winner anymore.
I don't think ITV are allowed to show the lottery
for what reason?
Why is lottery draw on so late ?

How are the presenters supposed to become household names if we never here their names on air?
I think its about time ITN re-introduced the voice over in the title sequence.

Is there any policy at ITV regarding the introduction of the news bulletins on ITV1. Sometimes the announcers introduce the presenter, sometimes they dont! Does it just depend on how the announcer feels on the night? How are the presenters supposed to become household names if we never here their names on air?

Don't knock the idea completely until the full proposal is known.
Isn't the proposal known Scottish 10.30 Sounds like they want to ditch the daytime half hour bulletin and get ITN to produce a tailored 10.30 (which basically means instead of English football stories leading the sports report SPL stories will lead)

It does seem like they have been rehearsing loads, but why would they be altering the set if it was rehearsals for the lunchtime news?
Cant see them having a different set everyday for the new lunchtime news!

Is all this second studio use really to rehearse for the election. Surely rehearsals for the new Lunchtime News are more likely at the moment.

New BBC1 Controller.
Broadcast is tipping Alison Sharman. I hope its not her- she doesn't exactly seem to be a fan of PSB. She's put Flog It up against the Six and targeted the same audience! Another reason why she shouldn't get it is that she has commissioned hour long episodes of Doctors- isn't a half hour bad enough??

Scheduling the documentary against Holby City and Location x 3 was also a stupid decision. Although I dont care about regional programmes, this is the sort of thing that killed them off - putting them out against Eastenders. How long will it be before ITV decide to axe all factual programming because it doesnt pull in the viewers - what do they expect with the slots they provide and a schedule dominated 6 days of the week with soaps?!
Well what else could they do, apart from drop the documentary altogether, last week they gave it the 9pm slot and it only got 2.7million and a 12% share, so it had to be moved. Which slot could they use for factual programming if it doesn't even work in the 9pm slot?

It's not the fixed bulletin I'm complaining about, it's the scheduling of the programme around it. Can't they just schedule a 30 min prog at 10pm.
( though I do think that when football airs they should be allowed to delay the news 15 minutes to allow an hour-long programme at 9.45pm )
Oh right
re: splitting the programme, It seems like a good idea to me in terms of ratings. If they get a good show and have half before the news its more likely that the audience will watch the news and then the 11pm slot as well. Therefore that hour long programme actually holds the audience for 90 minutes (although in reality the audience drops for the second half, I would think it's still higher than if they had a different programme in the 11pm slot)
