I believe Mannion is a fan of Carol Barnes, hence why she was brought back for the War coverage. Just the mention of Sue Carpenter brought a smile to my face. She is one of my all time fave newscasters, as was Fiona Armstrong. Mannion was an idiot for shelving Carpenter and Armstrong, and an idiot for sidelining Derham. Lucy Alexander is a talentless blonde who sounds like she's smoked too many woodbines, and to be honest, she doesnt look that good on screen. I would think she is well in with Alistair Stewart and therefore a front runner wih Mannion, as its known AS and DM are good friends.
Has Derham begun presenting LT yet???
