ITV National Weather

Ugh... cue endless variations on "Calm down, dear! It's only a light shower!"

New Interactive DVD Games

kernow posted:
The catchphrase one does look good.

There's a promo video for it on the Amazon page:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Catchphrase-Interactive-DVD/dp/B000VA3JHA/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1195251706&sr=8-1

It also includes bloopers, including the famous "Snake Charmer" catchphrase (although it looks like you get shown them at various points during gameplay, i.e. you probably can't access them from the main menu).

What's up with the Nick Weir era style DVD cover and the CG recreation of the original set in-game? Full marks for including a bit of Carpark Catchphrase right at the end though Wink

Oh dear, the fuse has gone out!

Show's over folks.

Refunds from the main gate.

No need to deprive the good folks of TVF the pleasure when the masses at the DS Broadcasting forum get it for free Wink

US TV Writers Strike

Here's a helpful explanation of the reasons why they're striking (yes, I nicked the link from today's b3ta email):

Right to reply returns as "The TV Show"

I'd prefer a forum style show with Charlie Brooker presenting (since he understands TV better than most), although he probably wouldn't have the confidence to interview people seriously.

Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em..in America!

If you put together the right people who aren't afraid to take risks (not just changing details for the sake of it), and understand what makes great TV, you get complete genius such as The Office US.

It just proves that the majority of UK to US conversions are done by producers who have very little vision or any sense of why the original worked. It's no surprise they also aren't any good at hiring decent writers or the right cast.

Children's TV programme name (from 1990s)

I don't remember any of those having the theme released as a single (or vice versa)... if anything I would have said Get Wet too. Wasn't that the one with the big pirate ship jobby as an endgame?

All Star Family Fortunes

The title sequence for this show is so cringe-makingly cheesy it's genius. There must be a lot of appeal in seeing Vernon getting zapped in the arse and reacting in the campest way possible.

DOGs and Other On-Screen Clutter

That's Ok, even ITV1 is too classy for them so those pairs of tits would be more at home on five.

DOGs and Other On-Screen Clutter

Would it not be feasible to have it slightly smaller and have it at the edge of 16:9 safe, invisible to 4:3 and 14:9 viewers?

Completely bizarre but a great "Saturday night" entertainment ident.

Indeed, it almost makes you feel sorry for ITV1 who really ought to be the epitome of Saturday Night telly... they got nothing!

Less weird than the Stepford Mowing Club though - I liked it Smile Expected it to be longer though?
