I definately *dont* fancy Scott Booth from Crossroads - he is about 14 isnt he? I like men not little boys so 0/10 for him LOL

Do bear in mind that there are two sides to every soap person - said person and the actor/actress.

So if I do this:

http://www.planetcrossroads.co.uk/episode/images/2003/scott.jpg

and say that this is actually an 18yr-old actor who just happens to play a 15yr-old in a soap, does that make any difference to his "fancyability"? Is that a word? Very Happy

Neil what are you talking about - after a few of the ITV regions didnt show all the episodes of Prisoner Cell Block H Channel 5 picked it up and showed all 692 episodes.

And they have also shown several other shows which ITV had previously axed or shown - currently they are showing Sons And Daughters which ITV showed in the 1980s.

Okay, I wrote a load of absolute bulls**t in my previous post in this thread and I have no idea why I wrote what I did. Of course H&A was on ITV as was Prisoner and I didn't know about S&D. But you're right C5 picked them all up after ITV. How could I have written such bull in the first place? Embarassed

I think there is a good chance another channel will show SS as its a damn good soap which any channel would be lucky to have in its schedule - its better than most of the other soaps shown in this country.

Good for you. Hallmark Television here SS comes Very Happy

Well it might get sent to other channels like Five etc?

I got sent loads of these when Crossroads finished and the "wow, 1.4m viewers, Channel 5 would be happy with that" type emails. Until you realise that it's 1.4m on the mainstream commercial channel, audience share of about 12% at 5pm, be lucky to get half that on Five I reckon in daytime.

I'm not saying it wouldn't happen Jez but Five have never picked anything up from ITV in their entire six and a half year history - why start now with a New Zealand daytime soap of all things? BBC Two have though, having picked up (and subsequently ruined) Blockbusters (as did Sky One after that) a few years back but I can't think of any other programme that leaped channels (apart from Fort Boyard, from Five to Challenge (new series), and Treasure Hunt from Channel 4 to BBC Two).

Well a lot of people have signed the petition today alone - we have loads of signatures now. At least this will show Carlton the show has fans and it will also encourage other channels to screen the show.

And how will it "encourage other channels" if all you're going to do is send it to Carlton? Mr. Green

Breakfast Breaking News

Don't mean to drag all this up again but if on the story about the 14yr-old girl and the 46yr-old man now found in Scotland then the Beeb did well this morning as when that story broke at about 7:10 this morning Sky News got their aston up first (as usual), then it came up on Breakfast about five minutes later. ITV News were probably caught off guard and were a full 10mins behind Sky in breaking the news.

That is all.

Challenge programme news

nwtv2003 posted:
Unbelievably I have been watching some of You Bet since it has come back onto Challenge in the Kelly era .... But an even better one was when the team consisted of Some unknown Rugby player, Sarah Greene, Carol Smilie (Wheel Of Fortune era) and Bob Carolgees. (Minus Spit)

Would that be yesterday's episode that went out on Challenge? These three people were on it and also had Mark Blundell as well.

Though it's good to hear that Fort Boyard will be back? But will it be presnted by Melinda Messenger (Handy as she works for Living anyway) and Leslie Graham. (I think) Though I always remember seeing the French one (I watched it on TV5), which I think did more worse stuff than the British version.

If I was a certain James Martin now I would have inserted some remark about a certain remake and its failure Rolling Eyes I look forward to the Challenge new series though.

(If you like French quiz shows, you can easily see the French version of Countdown and Going For Gold on British TV, or better known as Chiffres ét lettres et Questions un de pour Champion.)

According to UKGameShows.com, the french version of Countdown has been on air for over 30yrs but is apparently "slow and boring", although I see Richard Whiteley and friends are 12th in the UKGameShows.com league of "best UK Game Show" so they must be doing something right (even if it does have to give way to the cricket).

Plus is there any news on The Crystal Maze yet? (Crosses fingers hoping for Richard O Brien to come back)

I very much doubt that he would take the role back - I mean, according to IMDB, the gent's now 61yrs young. And according to the same page at http://uk.imdb.com/name/nm0639782/ what's this I see about "The Magic Roundabout Movie" (due out October 2004) to which Richard has apparently contributed his voice?

Challenge programme news

One little gripe:

Challenge have the show "Don't Try This At Home". Or rather they don't. Why are they only seem to have rights to two episodes? Every Saturday afternoon for as many weeks as I can remember it's the same cowing DTTAH show. It's the one where the Halesowen woman (who, according to Darren Day, has suddenly relocated to Birmingham) gets to climb up an 800ft high TV transmitter in, I think, Wales. The other episode has a lady walking over the crocodile pit.

Doesn't really seem much point having a show and then running just two episodes of an at least 10ep run, surely? Still at least they're now running the Matthew Kelly You Bet episodes again so there is still some justice. Smile

I do like your website Neil but as im not particuarly interested in Crossroads anymore its not really appropriate for me - I much prefer SS site's like www.shortlandstreet.co.uk or the official SS site - these are the only 2 that are updated regular.

If you liked Mark II there is plenty of Mark II material on the site, it probably outweighs all Mark III content by at least two to one.

Terry Wogan agrees with me.

Terry Wogan is not that stupid and has been on Radio 2 for years. You haven't.

Coming from someone who has no idea how to present breakfast radio despite doing a breakfast show, that's saying something.

And you, at 18, know everything and then some about radio presenting do you? Wogan is a professional, he's been on TV and radio for more years than you've been alive.

Even my mother, a die-hard Wogan fan, converted to Fosseway's Nick Gurney Breakfast Show about 3 years ago.

I do hope your mother enjoys her new found entertainment.
Likewise, I do wish you'd stop coming out with such silly comments.

Constructive criticism, maybe a bit too direct but I dare say most professional web designers (and I am not a professional) would have said similiar things.

Up to exactly the standard I expected from that boy, using one hell of a ghastly horribly sickly looking colour on the content list page, a shocking pink on the next, trying to remote load all images from Yahoo for some reason, sod all original content (says it's lifted everything from somewhere else), copious use of white space where it isn't even needed, no formatting, no structure and why has he put his mobile number on the site? Links to bidup.tv, amazon, EastEnders, Yahoo, all totally irrelevant...

I dispise Eastenders so I dont know why its on there. I gave Andy info for his page on the ITV regions - I thought I wrote quite an accurate account of when the various regions started and stopped the series etc

Well it doesn't look as if it's being updated anymore, least not if this comment is anything to go by:

[SS] will be axed again [from Meridian TV] on Friday 20th December 2002.

I don't think we should let Hymaguma see this site, he'll only freak out at the lack of basic HTML skills let alone a lack of XHTML Mr. Green
