Shows that people forget or get lost in time

Some more children's tv that slipped peoples minds....

Beachcomber Bay - Channel 5 show situated on a boat. I remember the main character was called Salty Dog.

I've trying to think of looking for that. But didn't really bother. And you found a episode!

London 2017 World Athletics

You do realise that Ade is a basketball player? So proper presenting wasn't necessarily what I was looking for here.

Channel 4

There is now a DOG in the corner. I don't particularly care but that's new

Channel 4

No. I've not made myself clearer. It's actually new variations of the idents.

Channel 4

Being watching the usual weeknight fodder and I've noticed some new variations. I think it focuses more on the 4 shapes, rather than a full 4. May still go a bit MORE slowly?

Film critic Barry Norman dies

I wonder if there will be some type of tribute programme soon. There are two repeats on BBC One after 10:45pm.

French TV

A handover between two French entertainment shows on C8 last Friday night. A change of lighting, a switching round of some panelists of which one of the previous show, then presented the next programme. A good way of sharing resources between the two shows using the same crew and audience, although I would have prefered a break. But it shows it can be done!

They probably had a little break before or after the show, as I know European TV does cut to breaks at illogical points (definitely to us anyway) or has full-on teases (like I found in between a commercial break between a live show and a Rai game show, on Rai 1.)

The Crystal Maze returns to C4

Surprised it isn't getting a weekend repeat in an earlier slot on C4 itself, but it is getting an 8pm repeat on Sundays on E4 and gets four outings on 4Seven including one at 9pm on Wednesdays (the others at 11.05pm, 12.05am and 1.05am throughout the week).

Suspect they'll be parents across the land not understanding why their kids just don't get it.

Well, apparently teenagers get it, hence the E4 screening.

Liquid News

Jon posted:
I'm glad I misread your post - seeing "Christopher" and "Williams" in the same sentence made me fear the worst Smile

I wish people would stop the obsession with this person who clearly had special needs.

Again, not that I want a reply going "We're not talking about you", I have special needs as well. I don't look constantly at this eejit at all. We go too off-topic because of him.

Red Nose Day 2017

dbl posted:
I'm bumping this thread because today is Red Nose Day here in the US and NBC is not going the typical live three hour special they've done in the past. Tonight there are special Red Nose themed special versions of was Running Wild with Bear Grylls (I think it's Julia Roberts) and America Ninja Warrior where each obstacle passed gets cash. Finally at 10PM they are airing a live one hour special - complete with a healthy dose of ad inventory.

Channel 4 here have done this to SUTC (Stand Up To Cancer) started as live event, but changed to SUTC themed programmes. But on some years they've brought back the live show.

Correction: the live show is bi-yearly but the themed shows continue every year.

BBC Oneness - idents and presentation

I'm assuming one of, if not both, of the following; either the BBC expected the negative backlash and tried to cover it up by having a monumentally small focus group and quickly moving onto a topic, and/or they're give so small a f*** about the matter that they got this group of people together for everybody to laugh and snigger at in a "don't you have more important things to worry about" approach and couldn't take it seriously enough to seek a riposte from anyone in charge of branding.

Yep. I was contacted by them on Twitter, gave them a email address but... never again. Even when they get webcam videos. Very lazy attempt.

TV Sponsorship

It was but they stopped it on The Simpsons and Futurama. Before that it was Onki (I think that is correct Very Happy) Overdrive but I also remember Currys, Domino's, Fizzy Chewits and Sonic Generations.

Anki.

So Close! I just remembered another one as well - The Penguins of Madagascar film. However, AFAIK C4 have had a lot more sponsors for the show, the last time I checked it was Birds Eye but that was about a year ago. Is it still Birds Eye?

It's still Bird's Eye. And that really is the worst I've seen on tv at the moment. Boy with bland smiley face showing teeth constantly, fox tail for some reason, sometimes he sits down but never eats, but sometimes disturbingly he stands outside the kitchen and just stands there, smiling at us. Very bland and irritating
