New Year TV

A panto was a nice end to my Christmas, mind you. I watched Snow White with Su Polland on the 2nd of January last year. It was seasonal but they asked children about what they got for Christmas.

Watchdog

The sound quality is as bad as a That's TV local set-up.

OK. I watched it tonight and I think you're overexaggerating it a little bit.

BBC News Channel Presentation - 21/03/16 onwards

There was once a clip on Outtake TV where a couple of newsreaders were dancing to the opening titles just before they were on camera!!! Back in 2005!

BBC One Christmas Ident 2016 Speculation

Two gay men are kissing because they are kissing and nobody cares. Would you care so much about this in person? I always kiss a man and I'm rebelling in our romance, not rebelling in your face or to be on trend! You should be ashamed of yourselves, this should not have been a debate.

BBC One Christmas Ident 2016 Speculation

From the clips and screenshots I found on the production company's website, it looks like we're gonna get something very live action and different. Dare I ever say commercial?

Trying to find a 90s Children's BBC show.

Unfortunately, even though there is so many shows that has at least one clip, I'm trying to find clips of a show called "Pirates" which ran from 1994 to 1997, based on a book series by Peter Tabern and features Liz Smith. He has a copy of a book and there's audiobooks of it but he can't find any clips from the show. I just thought I'd create a new thread about it.

Children in Need 2016

Oh dear. It would have been nice to keep Graham for the whole event to see how good he would do. I can't recall why Dermot hasn't returned this year.

Christmas 2016

CBBC seemed obsessed about making Hacker a social media star on platforms the target audience is supposedly to young to join.

I'm pretty sure that CBBC has a fair amount of teenagers interested in the channel and shows though. It's not like CBeebies.

US Presidential Election 2016

Have Sky sent all their anchors to New York? I love that.

Kay Burley will be at the Trump tower I suspect if he wins.

Oh now, that can't be serious, that sounds like Murdoch bias to me.

Christmas 2016

I think Matt and Toast will match with the off-kilter trend for Christmas adverts, so yes.

Also, I've seen and heard that bloody TK Maxx advert way too much!

ITC and ITV questions

Si-Co posted:
It was often name-checked as "Tyne Tees Television transmitting on Channel 3 North East"; suggesting that Tyne Tees was the company whilst Channel 3 North East was the service. It was a mouthful to say and sounded terrible.

Yes, as ttt has said, the company name was never changed and their programme endcaps always said 'A Tyne Tees Production for Channel 3 North East", or in the case of networked shows (the only one I can think of is Crosswits), the endcap said 'A Tyne Tees Production for ITV". The local endcap featured the '3' symbol, the network version had no symbol, only the words 'Tyne Tees' in a large yellow font above the text. So, as far as the rest of the network was concerned, it was still Tyne Tees, only they seemed not to have a symbol for 18 months!

The Channel 3 logo was also featured on Cross Wits.

The thing is we never like it, but we get used to it after some or all of it is gone!
