I T V Thames Valley Tonight.

What's the deal with www.itvlocal.tv then? Is it for real?

It looks like it could be quite good, but I've only even seen Meridian on there. There's no way to change region (if indeed that function exists), virtually none of the content can load because of the poor way the site has been built.

It's a bit of a pain because I'm in Central... although it's not that much of a pain because I can access 'Regionals' quite easily.

Midlands Today

Well I can tell you straight away that 'The Colourful Look' was a remix of a KPM track called "Newslive" by Richard Myhill. The original version is available in the KPM library, and therefore not allowed to be distributed here.

The 2006 Sting, affectionately known by the Midlands Today production team as "The Powerpoint Presentation" is a short clip of the end of the main opening theme. Haven't got it to hand, but I'm sure that the theme is in this forum somewhere...

The NEW Central West and BBC Midlands thread

But what of WCR, I hear you ask? (Tumbleweed etc etc)

It's now digital & online only between 1900 & 2000 instead!

Toodle pip!

'Tis true, we are (on WM) now exclusively on DAB. Trailblazing the FM/DAB split... remember we were the first to do it 3 years ago now.

Also, there's a possibility that there might be more instances of this sort of split in the future too...

What tumbleweed? Wink Laughing

BTW: WCR is not just on WM you know... Check out www.wcr1350.co.uk and www.wcrfm.com

Tarrant brings Tiswas back to ITV

The truth of the matter is that quite a lot of the programmes weren't recorded by ATV in the first place for many reasons: it was live, no one thought it'd be of any use in the future (this was the 70s remember), maybe no one thought it was good enough to record for posterity... take your pick. However, there's a lot more Tiswas in existance than you might expect... thanks to people home-recording many programmes.

Incidentally, it would appear that the Tiswas idea has been around for almost 2 years, but ITV have only picked up on it recently, perhaps because of the forthcoming Swap Shop show. No doubt the success of the Swap Shop show might help demonstrate how well a Tiswas programme may be received...

I'm part of the TiswasOnline website ( www.tiswasonline.com ) and we're going to be helping with some aspects of the show. Contrary to much of what you've read recently, nothing has actually been confirmed as yet... it's not even definite that the programme will go ahead, although it looks hopeful.

We're currently looking for anyone who had any kind of connection with the programme. Guests, prize-winners ('up by the ears'), even kids in the audience... we want your stories so that we can pass them on to the producers. There's a chance that some people may be asked to take part in the show - obviously if you can pinpoint a date you were on then all the better (if you know what I mean).

No guarauntees, obviously, but if anyone was on the show - go along to www.tiswasonline.com and contact us via the 'Contacts' section (or PM me here).

EDIT: A number of other aspects of that press report quoted above are wrong, for the full picture keep watching the Tiswas site Cool

Why not just do a search for a program so that you can do it yourself.

I did.

It took me 5 seconds to find something useful.

Beware - many people at BBC Birmingham, and on the Midlands Today team, are regular watchers of this message board.

If you have some trial software, then it's probably available elsewhere for download. To use it further than a trial period would require a purchase and/or registering. Therefore do tell what it is called so that others may look for it and perhaps make their own purchases.

Alternatively if you are suggesting that Shefali has provided you with some software that she shouldn't have, then be aware that you are placing both her and yourself in a rather awkward position with the BBC.

I think you need to explain things a little.

Back to the original point of this thread, I seem to recall that there's a font in existence which displays all of the (older) weather symbols...
