Entertainment USA Theme

Erm, unfortunately I know the answer to this.

It's called "I'll Slap Your Face" and was written and performed by Johnathan King himself.

It's commercially available on CD - 'The Many Faces of Jonathan King' from Music Club. Although I suspect you'll have a job finding it...

My Own Radio Station

I work at WCR in Wolverhampton ( www.wcr1350.co.uk), we've used Devaweb quite often ( http://devaweb.hostfront.co.uk or www.devaweb.co.uk) with excellent results. Although a lot of the time, we contact voiceovers, get them to do the line we want and then mix the jingles ourselves with excellent results.

You might want to consider mixing your own, but make sure you get a good dynamic voiceover, not just a mate because they're handy! I assume you've got all your PPL/MCPS/PRS licences? If so you can obtain a full set of most production music libraries for free... or access the online download service (these days found at www.playmegatrax.com) to find backing tracks for your jingles.

In the past I've worked at Beacon Radio who used Jam jingles via the now defunct Alfasound - but if you want quality then that's what you go for! (Jam is distributed through 'S2blue' these days).

The 100 GREATEST Cartoons

Hmmm, The Simpsons.

It's good, but it's certainly not *that* good IMHO.

I'm still miffed that it won the 100 Greatest Kids TV Shows too, I've never met anyone online (or off) who agrees with that decision!

Also - Jimmy Carr. Why?
Again, he's very good... but not in that particular role.

I don't suppose you have a list of the relevant KPM tracks to hand do you? Wink

Charles Allen Leaves ITV

Perhaps they should bring back Michael Green who lost out to Charles Allen when Granada first merged with Carlton.

Of course I'm joking.

Wink

I'd wager 50p that Mr Green is probably smirking at this news though...

Emmerdale - Song For Alice

It's being advertised as being available on CD. Check the end credits of any episode of Emmerdale this week for details of how to get it...

Probably not a good idea to distribute it, as all proceeds appear to be going to charity...

The Wilf's not too bad during the day IMO. Beacon's another matter.

I've never been a big fan of The Goat (!!) although it's got it's own audience I guess. I'm still quite loyal to Beacon after being there for all that time.

I take it none of the WM presenters came down then?

Must get my Tiswas DVD out again for another spin! (Briiight Eyeees. Boirning like foirre !)

Is he still a fireman?

I'll tell Matt he has another fan - yeah, he's still foiting those foires!
Watch out for another Tiswas DVD... we at TiswasOnline are hoping to help out with it...

I don't think any of the regular WM presenters came down to the show, other than a couple from the WM Newsroom to see if they could gather any clips for FM... which I gather weren't used in the end. Actually I guess you could class Saul from the Wolverhampton Community Magazine as a regular WM presenter, although he's based here in Wolves (3 feet away from where I'm sitting!)

The Wolverhampton City Show is on this weekend, & apparantly WM is down there, but is this more WCR than WM, as there is extensive DAB coverage as well. (Remember a couple of years ago, when something similar was mentioned on the forum? Maybe Mr B & his mate the rabbit man from Tiswas are involved?)

'Morning Westy2.

Yup we were there again - I was involved but Matt from Tiswas couldn't make it.

We did 12-4 on the Saturday, then 12-7 on the Sunday, followed by the frequencies coming back together for a highlights programme in WCR's regular Sunday 7-8 slot. I did the Saturday 1-2 slot, after first doing a test hour (on WCR AM only) during my regular Saturday morning show.

We did things slightly different this year. Whereas in 2004 the whole thing (music, jingles and all) came from the Show itself, this time round we each carried round a backpack containing a portable transmitter, sending our Mic signals back to WCR (1/4 mile away) then it was all mixed in WCR's studios and sent back down our permanet circuit to the Mailbox. WM's Chief Engineer (who is also WCR's Engineering Director) organised it all and drove the studio while we were at the show doing our stuff. He's looking at the forum right now - and did a terrific job bringing it all together!

We think it worked really well, plus we broadcast on the Birmingham webstream too. Thanks to WM's boss, Keith Beech, for letting us do stuff like this - he's all for it!

Funnily enough, both of Wolverhampton's other radio stations were there, telling all and sundry that they were the official station of the show. Beacon's cool - I worked there for 10 years, and I still love 'em to bits. But we spotted the other one, named after an animal... I think it's known as 'The Goat' Laughing ... in their 'Mr Whippy' van, sitting in deckchairs doing live links... and no-one was going anywhere near them... shame... (you see, local radio rivalry lives on!) We, on the other hand, went out and spoke to most of the exhibitors, and made some excellent radio! Cool Cool Cool

Noel's House Party (Last Series)

Yes it was specially composed for the programme. It's available on the 1998 'Gotcha: Noel Edmonds' VHS tape if you can find that anywhere...

Idea However, you might want to consider taking a look at MHP's Private Parts: http://pp.meldrum.co.uk - you need to register first then search, but it's free and I promise you'll spend hours on there!

Channel 4 News Theme Music

Do be aware that it's actually production music from the Zomba/Bruton library... so best not to re-distribute...
