I think the idea is that the titles will follow suite for the daytime bulletin titles. I think that we may also see the change of the BBC 1 main+ breakfast titles as soon as news 24 is relaunched, plus maybe a tweaking to the graphics.

Sunday Morning News on BBC1

Im very disapointed and surprised that people have let the new titles go without mention. Tsk tsk.

It should run
6:00 Breakfast
8:00 Breakfast with Frost- but when Sissons presents they really need to change the name to with Sissons
9:00 The Polotics Show
10:00 as now.

When Sir David goes, i think they should get a younger presenter in, and base the whole show on hard core interviews, they need a good interviewer, like jane hill or george alagiah, even Mr Sebastian or Ms Montague. There shoul;d only be a news update at the end, not at the beginning, and the weather should move to after the news.

On what criterion should newsreaders be selected ?

Lord Wellington posted:
I'd like to hear what others think about facial hair. I'm not talking about eyebrows, but beards and other such nasties. I find facial hair on newsreaders most distracting, and can't help but think it conceals a hideous rash.

You'll note that the BBC must think pretty much along the same lines, as very few prime time newsreaders have facial hair.

Jeremy is the only recent one i can think of on any BBC News

BBC News @ 10pm with LDN?

I didnt know Tony had moved... any way, in reference to the 10:25 bulletin, Martin left soon after michael and peter on the national news, Peter Marshall (a future national newsreader IMHO). So now the schedule runs like this:-

Breakfast :- Tina/Nigel
1 :- Gordon/Stuart
6 :- Gordon/Stuart (MArtin did it a few weeks back)
10:- Peter/Carol

Weekends:- Martin/Nigel
Bank Holidays :-Tina/Peter

BBC News @ 10pm with LDN?

North West Tonight have a few presenters, a lot of whom are reporters as well we have :-
Grodon Burns
Martin Henfield
Nigel Jay
Peter Marshall
Tina Bangs
Stuart Flinders (reporter)
Carol Lowe (reporter)

And Tony Morris presents his show, and he did a bulletin once as well

BBC News @ 10pm with LDN?

Indeed, terestrial TV got julianne joseph with LDN instead of North West Tonight during the title sequence.

The Ident was "This is BBC One, The news now with Huw Edwards and Julianne Joseph, its 10:00". I can only presume it must have been a problem in manchester.

I think everyone is back from next week, except fiona, natasha and possibly anna still. Huw is in for fiona, sian is in for natasha, ergo jules is in for sian on friday. darren is in for anna. Which means darren will not be on the weekend, unless anna is back.

and your'e right jon sopel would need to grow his hair a bit.

Does anyone know how Moira Stuart has been given such a small role on BBC News, considering she is the only one with a royal honour (OBE)

Because, IIRC, Moira is the last of the 'continuity announcer' newsreaders - not a journalist presenter. Someone on here said that when she did the Six O'Clock News, she didn't do many interviews. She got an OBE for her service to broadcasting, which she quite rightly deserved.

Ahhh... got you , makes sence really. If shes the last of the continuity newsreaders then they need to hang on to her... otherwise it would be the end of an era.... who were the other continuity newsreaders? I suppose Ed Stourton was?
