Come Fly With Me - Theme Tune

Random aside, the FlyLo branding used on this show suspiciously looked like it was using the TelewestVoice font family (even by then Telewest/NTL had become Virgin Media so no idea if DaltonMaag released it or a designer used it when they perhaps shouldn't!)

Come Fly With Me - Theme Tune

I remember watching that show on BBC Two when I was younger. That theme is lovely!
It had a (slight) resurgence last year, when everyone on my social media feeds were reminiscing about their childhood.

Look up, look down, look all around...

I think you're thinking of Come Outside, Come Fly with Me was a Walliams and Lucas comedy in a vain of Little Britain:

CBBC Studio Background Music name

Thought I'd steal the thread a bit, I can't find the video that was on one of the many CBBC/Children's TV threads that's appeared all of a sudden

They at one point used an instrumental of the track heard at 2:44

Does anyone know what it is?

Sky... again

I like these, and what I like is how looking back at your earlier work you've really tried to improve and the quality is superb! Constructive feedback works kids, if you're willing to listen.

That being said the static SN titlecards are a little, subtle, for want of a better work.

4.5/5 as the design side is there, now it's the finetuning and execution!

Keep it up

The new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands thread

A lot of regions have done that

Yes but they did it far sooner, in some cases within a week.

It just seems strange to do it now - as things may get eased next week.

The new NEW Central West and BBC Midlands thread

BBC Midlands Today have updated their titles to something more socially distancing friendly, albeit the place names are now static 'Midlands Today' branded. Some much nicer drone shots than before.

Ballyboy Asks a Question

This guy nailed it, Quite useful example https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1BgB6BXK4wQ

With respect to them, that looks like a blurry mess.

Having looked at the project files, they're on the right path, but the endboard isn't quite right (the CC Sphere never animated on in the originals, it was simply 'moved' on an axis into place). Few things like the XML lines missing too - the effects with the red tint were far more subtle than people realised.

A good recreation though - unsure why the original author would set everything to 10fps though...

BBC News 1999

Pete posted:

I think your N24 1999 countdown looks better than the original one. Laughing

nah. the heavy blurs and complex layering are integral to the original 99 countdown and, so far, none of the recreations have managed to get that right.

No pressure Bail.

Ballyboy Asks a Question

Is the template for the 2008 bbc regional news look available or not?.

No.

The template supplied by me was made by me as a recreation - why don't you try and make one yourself and share with others or learn how to do it, the tools and hints are in this thread already

BBC rebrand

* I'm just spitballing here... what if the BBC changed all their channels to just have "B" in their names? Personally I don't think it would work... what do you think?

Kind of answered yourself - if you don't think it would work it probably won't.

Returning to numerals is a good start, but keeping the colours consistent with their current identities (or recent ones) means your design is rooted in the 90s in some cases.

Why does the box need to be there to begin with? Is there something abstract you could do with the numeral itself to reflect personality?

This Morning 2009 Close

It appears to cut off at the end.

How so?
