What - from a broadcast perspective - is wrong with a Friday night game?

Just my own opinion. In my part of the world, Friday night is rugby night and has been for a good decade or so.

Sky / Discovery Dispute

Will serve Discovery right if all their viewers have already left Sky and their viewing figures collapse in the weeks ahead.

Your logic isn't sound. If Discovery's viewers have left Sky, it's to seek Discovery, Eurosport et al on alternative platforms.

As every year complaints online from football fans having to sit through The One Show and One Show fans having to sit through the Cup draw, with the cross-section not being that great.

Hey guess what Brekkie. I didn't sit through the One Show. The draw was scheduled to be made at a certain time, and that's the time I tuned in.

Sky / Discovery Dispute

Jon posted:
Sky's rivals must be loving this.

To an extent. None of them have the reach, stability or advertising clout that Sky has. For all its faults, it is still the number one way to get the most channels into your home in most of the country without relying on fast broadband infrastructure from 3rd party providers or having your street dug up.

It would be a blow, but not a fatal, totally gamechanging blow.

Plus Cardiff is easily reachable by train from literally everywhere. Including Newport.

Also it has the Bay. And three Nando's.
