Five News from ITN

I always thought Polly Whitehouse was a Sky News employee, I guess not.

I don't think I ever have seen Polly on Sky News, although the channel did use some C5 employee's packages on their channel

she occasionally read headlines during Dermot Murnaghan's Sunday show
she probably just transferred via TUPE, like the rest of the team.

The Sport Thread

editorially, Score is miles behind SSN. They frequently cross to goal flashes ages after they've happened and I agree about Gabby. just not suited to this kind of show.

ITV News

There have been about 3 or 4 occasions on Fridays only this Autumn when News at Ten has been on at 10:30pm. All other editions have been on at Ten, including all editions Monday to Thursdays except when the football sometimes delays it to 10:10pm. Hardly as bad as made out above.

on at 10.15 tonight.

Channel 4 news

Would still rather see the cash spent on restoring some kind of News at Noon - even if it's a 15-minute bulletin.

you've said this several times now without explaining why this would be a good idea

Sky News: Presentation Discussion

I get the feeling that sky are running with the trial because it will add to their campaign of getting live cameras in courtrooms in England. By showing the trial they're making the point that such transparency is not happening in Britain.

good point. they're also saving money by not having to produce their own news during these hours. see also their obsession with newspaper reviews

Sky News: Presentation Discussion

might be quite watchable but I still find the idea of an immediate medium like TV spending so much time discussing papers. cheaper than actually producing your own news I suppose

i don't get the disquiet over Mates? he gets all the big stories as correspondent and has a regular slot as a presenter. pretty decent position as far as I can see,

Sky News: Presenters & Rotas

Thanks Luke, really appreciate that. That would have been odd to hear Chris giving his take instead of him inviting others to do so, but if I'd known I would have listened in.

As a non London listener, what time do they normally review the papers on LBC?

between 7-8am

Sky News: Presenters & Rotas

to those of you who miss him on Sky, Chris Roberts was reviewing the papers on Nick Ferrari's LBC 9.73 breakfast show this morning. didn't catch if they said what he was up to now

Osama Bin Laden Killed

I don't understand how they're benefitting from being in New York. Pakistan I can just about get my head around, but New York has zero relevance to the current story. They should've just sent Mark down the road to Kings Cross station and saved on the flight money.

this is a joke, right?
