Sounds promising, now if we could just have two presenters again for the majority of the day that would be super!
Feel free to shoot me down here but anyone else thinking sofa for the improved shoebox ala GMTV and Breakfast for Slim Jim to sit on?
Only suggest it because looks like the elbow will have to move to allow the desk to move back or am I barking up the wrong newswall?

I hope they get rid of the elbow - its used too much. And used badly. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to bring a whole programme from their sitting on a stool?!

I thought of a good schedule for Sky News - could I post it here?

Go on then. It's the time of year which revolves around fantasy, so why not?

Agreed. Sunrise and Live at Five work fine with a single presenter. However daytime needs to double up again from 9am through til 5pm, especially Sky News Today. And I would like to see two presenters back again in the evenings and the 15 minute bulletins scrapped. (put them on Active and Online but not on the main channel)

What's happened to the usual TOTH pans? Seem to have done away with them this weekend.

Quite a funny cock up on the weather during Afternoon Live. Came back from the break, straight into weather, but Isobel Lang's pre-recorded forecast was soon replaced by shots of people walking into a job centre. Well recovered by Anna Jones though.

Is the weather only live during Sunrise and in the evening? I know it's live during SkyNews.com at 7, because as Martin is about to hand over to the weather, you normally see the forecaster in question waiting by the wall down below.

I wonder if Martin Popplewell will pop up again over the festive period? He was on practically every night last year, but haven't seen him on air since.

LOL. Samantha Simmonds just made the inevitable slip up. "Stay with us, we'll have all the Stop Tories, Top Stories, coming up." Laughing

On a serious note she's been very good on the evening news this weekend while Steve's been off. I'm glad Sky are finally giving her some more high profile slots than just the news wrap on a Sunday afternoon.

That was cool. Martin went to speak to Joanna at the news wall to get the latest on the wintry weather.

Steve Dixon remained on air until 2am. Marverine Cole has now taken over to continue the coverage overnight.

Another question - SKY is having very often a new on-air-look - are there any plans to get a new look in the near future? Do you know more?
I hate the current look!

Unlikely. The current look was only introduced in the summer. There may be some minor tweaks here and there in the coming months, but I wouldn't expect a full blown revamp any time soon. What don't you like about the current graphics? I think they are really nice and a lot better than the old look with the horrible rotating SKY NEWS dog in the bottom left hand corner.

Paula Middlehurst just said it's her last day at Sky today, presumably she meant she is starting her maternity leave and she will be back.
