And this is probably the time to reveal a secret. It might shock you, but balls to it... My name isn't really Larry
My sincere thanks to Asa and the team once again. See you all on TVL and, of course, don't forget to switch off your set.
Jessica Ennis... Goodnight.

I'm gonna pull out while I can and make what I suspect will be my last post on here. I echo my original reply in this thread and thank you all for making me feel part of what is an unashamedly weird but amazing community. And this is probably the time to reveal a secret. Was the end of On The Spot as spontaneous as it seemed, or were the topics Bob had to navigate through planted in the audience?
Have you been in a TV audience?
I feel privileged to have watched Bob Monkhouse doing his On The Spot show at TVC in the mid-90s. Just an absolute tour de force of course.
Large parts of the prog were done off autocue despite it claiming to have been spontaneous. But Bob’s warm-up to his own show- and the ad-libs during filming- were even more terrific. And some barbed comments about Anthea Turner (who he had recently succeeded on the Lottery) too.

I'm just glad TV Forum hasn't closed prematurely and been hastily replaced by Independent Forum Service for Television Branding and Presentation...

It's us who need the niche forum to discuss this kind of stuff, remember.
ITV Programming Thread
Let's be fair here. Seeing names like Granada and Yorkshire and Central back on endcaps is only going to appeal to a tiny minority, most of whom populate this forum. There are millions of people who don't give a toss what happens on screen between the end credits starting and the title for the next programme. It's us who need the niche forum to discuss this kind of stuff, remember.

Sounds positively wholesome compared to the backstabbing seen in Golden Balls.

One of my favourite things about TVF is it has permanently changed my lexicon. I often pause to check I've not added the extra o to network and I've accidentally used "shatliffed" in a professional setting.
It taught me from a very really age that "broadcasted" is not a word.
The TV Forum
Question is which one will be the TomD Netowork?

Good thing it's closing on the same day isn't it? Otherwise it'd be a waste.
