I agree to some extent, the big guns like BBC national and ITV National news should kept out - and only the local TV news crews should be allowed in. If the Big guns want to cover the story, they should have to link up to their colleagues in the ITV Local News Network.

Therefore allowing the own journalists to cover more english/international based stories.

On this current story, it has to remain finely balanced I guess, as handling it in an over the top way could lead to a panic amongst the masses. (Undeniably, it is a serious story though).

So, that being the case and to avoid being alarmist until further facts are gathered, they probably wont be showing and extended coverage on the main channels tonight, although the rolling channels will flog it to death.

I think I know the landslides your talking about James - I think I remember Louise was live at the scene on the lunctime and teatime bulletins. This the one your on about?

Your right - it will have to be balanced as u wouldn't want any Scottish bias - then again - I think that ITV News is mostly English biased to be honest. They sure don't feature much on Scottish end of things, unless it's a really big story. .

I even remember when the opening of the Scottish Parliament - and both ST bulletins were broadcast on News Channel

ST usually cope well with things like that - they r used to it, not to mention that Shereen dealt with it accordingly. ITV News usually call him Dave for some odd reason. Maybe they think it's easier?

one thing though, if a story breaks and it's in Scotland - shouldn't Scottish and Grampian get more than the usual alotted time to get the facts to the viewers?

What does everyone else think?

Bird Flu' found in Scotland

I've been talking to fellow posters on the BBC SPL Football boards, and they are saying that's the actual location of where the bird flu has been found is in the Glenrothes/Markinch area

I live in Glenrothes which has several ponds, but the main one is in the Town park where there are a pair of breeding swans and other ducks. Regarding markinch though, I'm afraid I don't that part very well at all - apart from where memorial hall and the station is.

C4 renew deal with ITN through till 2010

Yyyyyyyyeeeessss! This is the news I've been waiting for for ages! Classic! This means only one thing - that C4N is the best ever news programme that ITN have produced in their history!

*The Newscasters/Reporters/other Journalists are just top Quality
*The studio was the first in it's kind b4 5 News came along, and is still looking amazing! Even at it's age.
*The amount/quality of journalism is just so superior compared to eveyone else.
*The show will never ever be dumbed down unlike the others.

Nice one ITN - Keep up the good work. ITN - UNMISSABLE NEWS!
