Although, in the case of broadcast news, its good to juggle it around a bit, so as not to become monotonous, as in the case of the ever present Nik Gowing at exactly the same time every day after day.
Anita - family??? I don;t think she has any kids, but perhaps the others do.

Same question for the original (and best) ITN News at Ten bong theme. It was excellent, when played by an orchestra, as opposed to the current synthetic version.
Channel 4 News
On the subject of themes, what was the name of the old original ITN News theme, and where can I get a download?Same question for the original (and best) ITN News at Ten bong theme. It was excellent, when played by an orchestra, as opposed to the current synthetic version.

And, I watch BBC World every night and believe that Mike Embley did seven nights continuous this week. I don't recall him having a night off at all. He used to get Friday's off when Zeinab did Friday's. But not this week.
Poor Mike.
Poor us.

Notice that they appear to have flipped the rota on Saturday's on World, with Adrian now doing the morning shift and Lucy the evening one, as opposed to vice-versa. Not sure who did the bit in between though yesterday!!And, I watch BBC World every night and believe that Mike Embley did seven nights continuous this week. I know it will never ever ever happen, but I am going to say it anyway. I wish Moira would come back to the Six! Would be a nice change.
Breakfast - Sian's replacement
I am sure that we'll now see a bit more of Natasha and Fiona doing the Six, as Sian MUST be due for a holiday!! She must be totally exhausted. It's hard going, I am sure.I know it will never ever ever happen, but I am going to say it anyway. I wish Moira would come back to the Six! Would be a nice change.

Did you see her this morning on Frost, or is she now also presenting other bulletins?
Moira!!!!!!!!
See the Breakfast with Frost thread - she's been doing it for a couple of weeks now during Sir David's programme.Did you see her this morning on Frost, or is she now also presenting other bulletins?

Also, the attached link would appear to verify that there was a Scotland Today presenter who did have a problem with the phrase Jobs Blow!!

Shereen Nanjiani - Scottish Television News
Just read an amusing piece online about Shereen being caught on air with her hands down her trousers, when ITN unexpectedly cut back to Glasgow early during a transmission. Also, the attached link would appear to verify that there was a Scotland Today presenter who did have a problem with the phrase Jobs Blow!!

May I ask on what credentials Sarah was hired by STV to present the News? The fact that she appears regularly in Hello! and OK! magazines goes to show the type of "personality" she is perceived to be.
However, Whilst she may have long flowing golden locks and look the part, I don't think the viewers are fooled. The Central Scotland audience is far more at home with Shereen Nanjiani in the chair presenting their nightly news.

I hate the idea of lingerie models (Sarah Heaney) presenting the News on television. It just goes to show how incredible and how seriously STV take the role.May I ask on what credentials Sarah was hired by STV to present the News? Your comments about Sally Eden today were highly accurate. As we know from Dominic di Natale's previous post in this thread, Manisha Tank is having some time away from broadcasting to do other things. Dominic himself is on two weeks holiday and Aaron is therefore filling in on Dominic's daytime shifts. Jane St. Clair has left the BBC altogether, as has John Terrett, so that only leaves Declan (Breakfast), Tanya (NYSE) and Angela, Mark and Shola (LSE) presenters to fill in the missing gaps. So, I reckon Sara Coburn is by far the best out of all of them, with of course the exception of Queen Beckett.
Linette Tye (formerly of BBC Asia Business Unit and former news presenter on BBC World) would be a welcome change to the entire line up, and bringing some welcome "international" feel to The World Today. All of the current presentation on TWT is mainly handled by English broadcasters (Aaron excepted). BBC World is - after all - an international broadcaster.

I think Sara Coburn is way under-rated and is an excellent presenter on BBC Television, having exposure in all three areas (Network, N24 and World). I wouldn't mind seeing her as a permanent replacement for Sally Bundock.Your comments about Sally Eden today were highly accurate. The N24 studio is a mess of cables, screens, printers and stools. I hate the idea of news being presented by someone either standing up or perched on a stool. It should be done Burnet and Gall style from behind a large steel battleship style desk, with loud drums and bong style musical fanfare, as opposed to garage style music that BBC news seems to generically employ, and which should be confined to night clubs.
Please bring back some seriousness to TV News and please please don't dumb down BBC World by making it take on the appearance of N24!
Although the news content may still be of a high standard, it is somewhat diluted when the viewer is more concentrated on trying to figure out how all that frosted glass is put together!!
Where are Burnet and Gall now anyway?
"BBC WORLD"
The nice white desk is not nice at all, and the laptops are a real cluttering mess. I don't want my BBC World news presented from a circular white frosted table - I want them to have a desk similar in style to the CNN International one in Atlanta, with a big black frontage and logo. It's far more serious looking than the BBC and N24's internet cafe style mess. The N24 studio is a mess of cables, screens, printers and stools. I am also having an ongoing argument with a friend back in Glasgow who is ADAMANT that in the eighties when a famous steel plant in Lanarkshire was closed down, the headlines on Scotland Today that evening should have been "Huge Jobs Blow for Lanarkshire". But, according to my mate, you've guessed it, he reckons that Shereen got the words "Jobs Blow" mixed up and said them the other way round, direct into camera, with Viv Lumsden alongside trying not to laugh.
Can anyone verify that this actually did occur, or is my mate pulling my leg?
Anyway, who cares, Shereen is still an excellent and natural, down to earth news presenter.
Why doesn't she get a chance on the ITV News Channel, like so many other regional presenters do at the weekend? Or is she best at Cowcaddens?

Moira is by far the most recognisable presnter on BBC News today. I reiterate the comments made in my original post at the top of this thread - she deserves recignition for not dabbling in the celebrity loop that so many of her colleagues seem to thrive on.
Other than the BBC Children in Need slot last year, does anyone remember Moira doing anything else that remotely resembled tabloid tat? (CIN was for charity so totally acceptable in my opinion).
