Is the screen a Microsoft Surface Hub?

Could be - though no need for it to be. The credited screen provider was Kenziko, who have a track record in touch screens (they've done the Stargazing Live one since series 2) using all sorts of tech - including VizRT. Touch screens of the size Alegra was using are pretty easy to source, and come with USB connectivity, and then it's just a case (not dismissing this!) of sorting the UI, moderation/aggregation, and design...

Erron has confirmed on Twitter Messages that it is a Microsoft Surface Hub. They cost $21999 according to this article, which is probably what Robert meant when he joked about most of the budget being spent on the screen. http://mspoweruser.com/84-inch-surface-hub-finds-home-new-itv-talk-show/.

I think it works quite well for the show however like you said, there are many other options available.

Good Morning Britain

I'd say try and link GMB to ITV News a tad more. ITV News is a well known, respected brand and that's what GMB has the potential to become if it creates a strong link with ITV News.

I wish people would stop complaining about GMB mocks. If some people don't like GMB related mocks, then why do they follow their temptation to click the mock and (in some cases) reply to the thread. The current GMB graphics aren't the best which is why so many mockers try to improve them.

BBC Rebrand Project

Maybe for promoting programs, the cube could have the '2' on the left hand side and a program image on the right?

Yes, that should work!

BBC Rebrand Project

I like that you are creating a stronger link between different parts of the BBC brand by using the new 'icon' theme introduced with the new BBC Three logo.

Maybe for BBC One, try and make the swirls more like the swirls currently used to make it even more recognisable: *.

For BBC Two, you could bring the iconic '2' into the logo to make it recognisable. I like that you have based it on BBC Two's new slogan though - maybe add the '2' to one of the sides of the cube when the logo isn't being used for promoting programs.

For BBC News, I think the globe idea could work. Maybe try a globe icon with a thicker outline?

The quarter 'credit squeeze' idea needs to be improved. The BBC used to do something similar to your idea a while ago and they ended up scrapping it. (See https://youtu.be/uxIpu0GRQ7I?t=50s)

I like the rest of the logos a lot, especially BBC Weather It looks simplistic and clearly represents the BBC Weather brand.

ITV Nightscreen redesign graphics mock

pad-e posted:
The description text on the ITV 2 slides should be in lowercase. It's much harder to read large chunks of text in all caps.
Tell that to ITV. All of ITV2's on screen text is in uppercase. I suppose they think its "edgy" or "down wiv da kidz" or something.

I will try to make it more readable but I'm not planning to make it lower case as that detracts from the ITV2 brand.

I'm afraid to say I greatly dislike the final ITV2 design. I love, however, your 'traditional' curved ITV endboard style for both ITV and ITV2.

That design was more of a test. The design I will use is the curved design.

BBC Rebrand

A good start. Maybe you could try to develop an icon to replace the word One to make it fit in with your BBC 2 and BBC 3 logos. Also, I think the BBC Worldwide logo would look better if you made the word 'World' fit completely on the first line and just have the word 'Wide' on the second line.

ITV Nightscreen redesign graphics mock

You could make the ITV 2 more like the promo in the credits, so have the image at the side?

Thanks, I never thought of that idea.

It doesn't look right in my opinion unless you can suggest any tweaks.

Thanks for the feedback David and LuckyC. I'll use the curved design.

ITV Nightscreen redesign graphics mock

I would make different nightscreen styles for each channel as ITV2 have a nightscreen which is just a simulcast of ITV Nightscreen, so you can make it so it's one only ITV2 can use e.g

I've changed the colours around to match ITV 2. I'm not sure which design is best for the programme info at the bottom of the Nightscreen.

ITV 2 Nightscreen Idea 1 (Rounded ITV design):

ITV 2 Nightscreen Idea 2 (Boxed ITV 2 design):

Obviously these designs aren't final but I'd just like an idea of which looks best to start off with. I prefer the rounded design, but ITV 2 doesn't use the same endboard as ITV so a boxed design may match the channel better.

ITV Nightscreen redesign graphics mock

Thanks for your helpful feedback. I've made a few minor changes to improve the alignment of everything and I've added the genre/ad/sub boxes. I've also improved the way the shows section animates into the ITV animation and then into the ITV News Top Stories section. Unfortunately, one thing I couldn't fix was the ITV segments fading issue.

Next, I'm thinking of adding an ITV Hub section which features the most popular content on the ITV Hub from ITV. Do you think I should create different versions for the other ITV channels, or should I just feature the schedules from all ITV channels on this one?

Anyway, here's the improved version:

ITV Nightscreen redesign graphics mock

Hi TVForum,

Some of you may remember my ITV Nightscreen mock from last year (http://tvforum.uk/thegallery/itv-nightscreen-redesign-graphics-mock-40918). I got some great feedback but looking back, it still never completely fit in with the main ITV brand. Although it worked better than the Nightscreen that ITV are currently using, it didn't really have the look and feel of ITV.

I've changed quite a lot of things in this update. It is inspired by the ITV endboard as you can probably tell. I've removed the ticker and added a ITV News top stories section instead. The ticker didn't look right with the updated graphics.

Here is the new version:

Last years version (so you can compare the two):

I understand that Nightscreen is a cheap filler, but in it's current state, ITV should either give it a refresh or get rid of the Nightscreen altogether.
