Downing Street Briefing Room

I honestly don't think it's that bad. I had low hopes to start with and almost expected a flat backdrop behind a bland podium with some rather jarring house lighting.

Here they've kept the traditional feel of the State Dining Room and blended it with functionality.
The only thing that bothers me is the random blue chunk of wall that houses a TV that's slightly too small, with a frame that's slightly too thick.

Otherwise, I'd say it looks just fine.

I wouldn't describe it as "pure speculation" when the two former colleagues that Sharon allegedly directed this comment at have both said it themselves. They're definitely solid accusations that require investigation.

Piers Morgan to leave GMB

So I’m finally getting round to watching Monday’s GMB, and might I say Chris Ship handled himself in an absolutely commendable fashion in the face of Piers who is genuinely coming across quite deranged.

I hate to delve into replacement speculation, but... 👀 I don’t think he’d be given the gig but he was previously ITV deputy political editor so I could see him doing a fine job.

The sheer size of it too was also mocked by U.S. host Jimmy Fallon last night...

Realistically Piers isn't going to stay on GMB forever. He signed a two-year contract at the end of 2019, and at the time he said he'd be leaving once those two years were up. There's obviously the chance he was being dishonest there or even that he might have decided by the end of his contract that he wanted to stay. But taking his comments at face value, he's leaving at the end of the year.

Is the damage to ITV's reputation worth kicking the can down the road for another nine months? GMB are going to need to find a new host at some point, and there's a very good chance that it's coming up fast.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Piers is let go after these past few days. In my eyes, he's committed at least four sackable offences across the two shows. All four of his on-air colleagues, Susanna, Alex, Charlotte and Hilary looked disgusted/appalled/embarrassed this morning.

The cynic in me is inclined to suggest Piers only came back because the interview with Thomas Markle was coming up, and the attention that will result from it.
