The Masked Dancer UK

Hearing reports that ITV have bought the rights to The Masked Dancer, set to film this summer and fill the BGT gap.

Filming in the summer but filling BGT’s slot? I presume the report actually meant it’s going to Autumn.

What I mean is that they are set to film it this summer and then air it in the BGT Autumn slot.
Then call it the X Factor slot. BGT only aired in Autumn 2020 because they had to suspend the series before the live shows due to lockdown.

Dustin Diamond (Screech in Saved By The Bell) has died.

Title sequences have been falling out of favour for quite some time. The Simpsons (which is of the same vintage as SBTB, starting in 1989) has a minute long titles, but there's a lot of episodes where they go from Lisa's sax solo to the driveway scene, or even straight from the blackboard gag to the driveway scene.

The Chase | Beat the Chasers

Here's some better trailers for 'Super Jahti' the Finnish version of Beat the Chasers starting later this week.

Seems strange without the big 'C' but for obvious reasons.

Why are there only three Chasers on that version? The format requires at least four.

Challenge - June 2016 onwards

So true. Those mullets and perms would definitely expose it's 1980s origins.

Dustin Diamond (Screech in Saved By The Bell) has died.

Was a regular Sunday morning fix long before T4 too. Tragic news - and I was actually surprised how young he was considering it aired from 1989-1993 - you usually think of the stars of US teen shows being quite a bit older than the characters they are playing, but if anything he may have been younger.
If he was 44 in 2021, and the show started in 1989, that means he was only 12 then! And being set in high school, his character would've been at least 14. Apparently them casting an underage actor was an accident - they misread his headshot and thought he was older.

The Chase | Beat the Chasers

They're currently down two Chasers too (Anne and Mark), because they're from our version and can't fly out.

Should BBC One become... just BBC?

Growing up in the Midlands in the 1970s, I don't recall anyone ever using anything other than ATV as a name.
Yes we were all aware it was part of a wider national ITV, even in those far away times we could understand that.

However even my old Nan, who refered to the Sunday People as the Sunday Pictorial never mentioned ABC at the weekends.
If she could keep up with it, then us younger folks had no excuse!
I think you mean the Sunday Mirror, not the People. The Sunday People was always called the People (but not always SUNDAY People). The Pictorial is the Sunday Mirror.

Britain's Got Talent 2021 cancelled

Jonwo posted:
Replacing Amanda and/or Alesha could open a can of worms if their replacements are much younger.

Plus the tabloids would have a field day, as they like to believe Simon runs the show single handed.

“Amanda: My Feud with Simon, Exclusive by Dan Wooten” coming to the papers soon.

The fact the judges and the hirings and firings became a bigger story than the show itself is one of the reasons why TXF went off the boil
You know that Dan is leaving The Sun, right?

Should BBC One become... just BBC?

BBC One also works because they have a BBC Two as a second public channel and don't have a past as a heterogeneous entity, unlike ITV.

So,no

Yes it does. It existed on its own for 28 years before it was rebranded as BBC One!

Well, it was technically the BBC Television Service!
Officially, yeah, but the idents didn't use the full name. The Batwing ident just said BBC, the next two said BBC tv, and then the one in use when they became BBC 1 also just said BBC on it.

The Masked Singer UK...2021

he has had many adventures = Torchwood and Doctor who.
He was also on Arrow and it's spin-off DC's Legends of Tomorrow, as Malcolm "Dark Archer" Merlyn, so that clue could refer to that as well.

Channel 4 - 80s themed brand elements today

Yeah, I think that's actually pretty clever. It looks like one complete font to the reader, rather than six partial ones.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

I've just been watching the repeat of last weekend's episode, and the first contestant was eliminated without using any lifelines, getting the £32,000 safety net question wrong. His reaction had to be bleeped out! It's not often that happens, so I don't blame the contestant for turning the air blue.
