Does anyone have a high quality version (128kbps mp3 or above) of the full length Calendar theme used by YTV in the early 80's to accompany their IBA slide?
Also, does anyone have a 300kbps+ version of the 1997 central news west titles?
yes, i too would chop off my little finger for a nice copy of the central west 97 music.
The Central West 1997 was specially composed by Tom Blades.

Or The Bill, Casualty or Doctors!

Anyway, I noticed this character in Corrie this week but couldnt make my mind up if he has played previous characters in Corrie or has appeared in other soaps:-

Does anyone recognise him?
He was the health inspector in Brookside, who moved in with Sinbad and Tinhead, and they suspected him of being a murderer. He later came back, and shut down the chippy.

On this day in 1987 : The Hurricane

What always makes me think about the whole storm is what happened on ITV that morning? I know things were probably more normal from 9.25am onwards but obviously how did this affect TV-am, as I read sonewhere that they were hit pretty badly.
I did read an article online that the TV-am studios at Camden were powerless, so they decamped to Thames at Euston Road.

I noticed on the omnibus edition this afternoon on ITV1 they didn’t show last Sunday’s episode, and started off with Monday’s. This is clearly due to there being a 1 hour episode on Wednesday and they couldn’t fit it all in and were just given the usual slot for 5 episodes not 6, but surely the whole idea of an omnibus is you get ALL the episodes.

When watching the omnibus after watching the episodes in the week, does anyone else notice the extra scenes and phrases of dialogue put in? The Brookside omnibus also used to have huge chunks where entire scenes were different. There was a bit put in yesterday when Todd, Eileen and Sean were in the pub talking about Oxford, and the scene where they were about to go into the house whilst Jason and Sarah were in there was different as well. I realise that these short bits were probably cut out of the weekday versions to make them fit in their slot, but why reinstate them for the omnibus - that's it they are doing it and I'm not just losing my marbles!

Sorry, but the vast majority of morning TV viewers disagree with you. Like it or not, it's a fact!

And Rosie's been at school for years, she's at least 8 now.
If you must criticise, do keep up.......
I think wee Rosie is 10 now - I used to get very confused at primary school, thinking one of the teachers was Lorraine Kelly - she brought her newborn daughter in 10 years ago and I kept on calling her Rosie!

I'm sure I heard somewhere that not all the old episodes were kept. Apparently tape was very expensive in those days, so they tended to wipe it and reuse it as a cost-saving exercise.
Coronation Street has an almost complete archive of eps - some 60s ones are on film though. Most other shows from that period are not in as good a shape archive wise though.

Coronation Street

Corrie has been almost completely on location on The Street for the past two nights - with only a few scenes in the Rovers, Les's, Devs Flat and Martin's flat in the studio. There's also a credit for a Construction Co-ordinator on the credits - is there a new set being built in the studio? The Nexus is due to appear soon, isn't it?
