New BBC Singapore studio

They just previewed the new studio on Newsday. Unfortunately I don't have images so my description will not do it justice. It is more spacious than the previous set and looks similar to the London studio with a desk and a standing area. Those who loved the skyline view from the old set won't be disappointed as it also includes a much wider window with a different view of the Singaporean skyline.

That edition of Business Live must have been broadcast after its usual time because it was pre-empted by all the press conference s from Brussels during its regular slot.

What do people think of those 60-second packages that consist of just text, graphics, and music? They don't have any voice-overs. They're being used a lot even outside of Outside Source. Some of the music chosen for them irritates me but music is a personal thing.

Thanks. I don't frequent that part of the forum often. I should change that. Looks like I missed out on quite a bit. Smile

BBC World News from New Broadcasting House

More cuts not necessarily to the news department but it shows the dire state of things. It's hitting the domestic side hard I believe but everything appears to be interdependent.

And let this be a reminder of what type of people are destroying the BBC:

BBC World News from New Broadcasting House

I can't remember if I posted this here and I'm having trouble searching at the moment so apologies in advance. I'm curious is BBC World News subtitled/captioned? I only ask because it's not here in North America (I know for sure it's not in the US or Canada).

I live in Canada and I have seen closed captioning on some recorded shows such as HardTalk.

I think BBC world should have more news time and less commercials for european feed.

That would be nice but from what I've read, the current UK government despises the BBC. I believe it was mentioned on this very forum sometime ago that there's a need for the BBC to increase advertising revenues from abroad to cover the funding cuts.

Al Jazeera English from The Shard

Still seven hours from London. 1600 - 2300 GMT.
It makes me wonder if such a view would have been possible in Kuala Lumpur from the Petronas Towers if they were able to choose any floor they wanted.

BBC News: Presenters & Rotas

It would be nice to see that happen.
Let's add some fuel to the speculation fire: Rico Hizon re-tweeted a photo of Dani Sinha on the Singapore set a few days ago. Although I wouldn't read too much into this one.

International Weather Coverage

The on-air appearance of those alerts are not uniform as the provinces usually have a larger say in these matters. The example you have shown is not what they do in my province.
This link explains it and has links to the individual provinces and territories.

BBC World News from New Broadcasting House

Asia Business Report has in-studio guests on every edition I've seen until the BBC decided endless repeats of Click and Travel Show should replace ABR in the Americas. They're great shows but Who needs to see the same episodes at the same time every single weeknight of that week?
Edit: and it looks like on the schedule grid they'll show promgramming aired weeks or months ago.
