No, it was a spoof. There's some RealPlayer clips on the Look Around You site. 'tis very funny. I put an episode on an old tape, stuck some old pres either side and placed it on a teachers desk. What a lesson.
One day I must have heard it about five or six times and got sick and tired of hearing it. Thankfully, as soon as I said that skateboarders became less frequent and was replaced by other decent idents.
That must have been the Skateboader Ident launch night
The second utterance occurs right at the end, on the plane when a U2 member throws a spoon towards the back of the plane. Mr Burns gets hit, get's up and calls U2 "W*nkers".
In the edited (not cut) version I have seen on BBC2, they dubbed over Burn's foul-mouthing with the 'Ow!' Burns cried out when he was initially hit. It did sound odd
How did they know about the episode involving the word "****ers"? I'm sure that only Sky One has shown that episode and that word was cut out!
It has been shown on BBC Two - it's the episode where Homer becomes a christian missionary on a polynesian island.
Unsuprisingly, the BBC cut it too Here's the version that was broadcast by the BBC:

Having watched the two episodes Channel 4 broadcast yesterday, they seemed heavily edited in some places.
For instance, the second episode (Halloween one) begins with Homer reading a newspaper and wondering why a comic strip is missing, which Marge said she had removed;
However
, during the Simpsons documentary afterwards, a very short clip is shown that feature Marge at a table, scissors in hand, laughing at a newspaper - a section of the clip that was cut!
Why have Channel 4 cut what seemed to be a completly uncontroversial bit of the episode?
