YTV doesn't seem to have a weather sponsor at the moment. The last couple of nights they've used a generic weather sting from the old Granada Media Group weather graphics.

The South/South East Thread
Yeah, Fred & Debbie were sitting in front of an animated backdrop too. I hope they have city backgrounds in due course (i.e. West: Reading, Salisbury etc. South: Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Brighton etc. South East: Brighton, Maidstone, Leeds Castle). It would certainly brighten the place up.

I think Meridian South & South East are getting projector screens. Glen Thompsett (SE) and Amanda Piper (S) are sitting on the sides for this evening's late bulletins. Keith Malone (W) is sitting in the normal position (because West already have a projector screen).

I would've thought maybe he had Polish parents but I never had a thought that he was from Poland himself! He doesn't sound Polish in his forecasts.

Has anyone noticed that Meridian (and Anglia for that matter) still have the old blue/white colour filters in their studios? Three months on and it hasn't been noticed. I wonder when/if they'll change them.

I wonder if Robin Lermitte will be back on the Meridian weather. I noticed him on the London weather today. Philippa Drew's back though, which is cool.

Meridian South & South East still have static backdrops. I hope the other two Meridian sub-regions get animated backdrops in due course. It'd be nice to have city backdrops like the other ITV plc regions. Funny to think that the Meridian region is one of the largest, yet looks poorer than Border or Westcountry!

I'm still confident that the story about the YTV chevron 'falling off' is a load of baloney. If it were the case, if only ITV had the nostalgic heart to put it back up, to remind us of YTV's chevron.
Back on topic, Tyne Tees still have the old ITV Tyne Tees logo on Television House in Gateshead. They showed the outside at TTTV on North East Tonight when it snowed. ITV are so lazy, but Kent House so far as I'm aware is up to date. Typical ITV eh?

He's filled in on East Midlands Today several times too.
He was on South Today early last week, filling in for Alina Jenkins

I always enjoy seeing the 'retired' forecasters, such as Michael Fish and even Meridian's Carl Tyler. Just adds nostalgia to that day's forecasts to see a legend at work.
