Well he seemed to make it clear on HIGNFY last week, that he would not be returning (at least not to present MOTD, anyway - that's well and truly Gary Lineker's turf now). I thought he'd be retiring after his contract with ITV finished.
I gathered he was going to do some work on Radio 5 Live - almost going back to his broadcasting roots (well, since leaving Ireland anyway).
Quite incredibly - even by their standards - this evening UTV managed to miss the sponsor credit, THE ENTIRE OPENING TITLES AND PART OF THE OPENING SCENE of tonight's Emmerdale. They went straight from a promo to the programme which had started approximately 45 seconds earlier.
Thank God for "Add Channels", even if it is a bit of a bother using it.
I think it's high time we had the option of adjoining ITV1 regions in the 900s, as elsewhere, eg. Border and Scottish.
More and more UTV resembles Hospital Television - well, a hospital case anyway.
Just now - watching 'Coronation Street' on ITV2, you could clearly see the weather on ITV1 super-imposed over ITV2. It lasted over a minute. Very messy.
Seems OK now, but any ideas how that could have happened?
