The Central "cake" is another one that remains timeless.
The current BBC logo is obviously not going to be here forever. It's survived this long and still looks good, but I can't see it passing the 25 year mark. The forum will be up in arms about it looking stale before the decade's out.
I don't actually know if this is allowed here, as it's not my own, but this was posted by JK08 some time ago. Obviously it's superseding something made by Lambie-Nairn so it faded away very quickly. I like it myself, very versatile, something which made the '97 logo great.
As screen definition continues to improve, I suspect the temptation to revert to the historic italic style will be irresistible. It's poor rendering on digital devices at the time, being the lead in the change to the squared blocks.
I've just nearly killed myself laughing. Thanks for setting the record straight JK08.
The newest variation of your mock is again a lot better, but now we've got a lack of decent fonts - Tahoma and Arial
*shudder*
The name Breakfast is doable, I guess. Though you have to do something about that title card. If you can't make an original logo that doesn't look like it's from 1986, then try and lay out something decent. Take a look at the normal ITV News, or BBC Breakfast for inspiration.
Experiment with different fonts, branch out from the "built-into-Windows" fonts.
Sort out the name aston! I'm reading it as "Project Advisor Sanjay Rahman" again. Use font weights where you need them, like this:
How it should be posted:
Sanjay Rahman,
Project Advisor
Better than the last two tries. Still only worthy of 1 star.
However I do think you're improving. Come back after a few days and have another go.

Congrats on making a recognisable logo, but as AxG said it's reminiscent of morning shows from the 80s, rather than the mid-10s.
Layout of the graphics and astons is still chaotic. The name aston needs to be a lot bigger - someone watching on a small screen won't be able to make it out whatsoever.
Channel 4 have holding slides already. The one you've made is a significant step backwards in aesthetics.
Don't use so many fonts! A consistent look is what's required for something like this, and that consists of one font.
Use font weights (e.g. light, semibold) as needed.
One thing you have to remember, as others have said, is:
"is this something I could see on TV?".
Right now, the answer's a big fat no.
I'm sorry but this isn't very good. There's barely any thinking in the graphics, there's no substance to it. It screeches "cheap".
I'm presuming on image 2, those are name tags. Unfortunately being on one small tab, and everything being in the same font weight, it reads as
"Lucy Brand Michael Smurt Crime Analyst Retired Detective".
It's confusing to say the least.
The logo isn't recognisable. Remove the text from the
Gold
logo, and chances are you'd still think "oh, that's Gold". Removing all text from this, on the other hand, would just reveal an orange circle. Hardly distinctive.
Unless you're making a pre-1999 TV mock, use 16:9 images for your mocks instead of 4:3. And, as Declan said, use safe areas -
this graphic
will help you out a lot.
You're a new member, so I'm not going to bite your head off like some might (I've been there before believe me ), but I will ask you to consider these points before you try again.
Keep going with this! It is certainly an interesting concept, it just needs work.
And check your grammar before you submit pictures:
