Michael Jackson trial verdict coverage

I think Sky News are seriously taking the p*ss. Sure, the trail deserves some coverage, but they have devoted HUNDREDS of hours of air-time to this trial over the past three months what with their reconstructions etc.

The BBC covered it without too much hype or devoting ridiculous amounts of air-time to what is essentially a story for the trashy 'sleb' magazines such as Heat.

I've come to the conclusion that Sky News is no more reputable than it's sister publication, The Sun. Both pander to the braindead masses. Sky didn't used to be like this, but it's taken that road now and I don't see it pulling itself together in the near future, if at all!

Also 'Autocue' is a brand, but it's another of those things where the brand-name has come to be the actual product.

E.g:

Be the new C4 Continuity Announcer!

Channel 4 like using people who have an edge to their voices. Gone are the days when C4 announcers sounded like they were on the BBC, we now have young girls and boys with quite a high proportion of regional accents (Scottish, Ulster, Manchester etc.).

I remember a radio times poll a few years ago. Trevor Mcdonald was the most trusted newsreader, Michael Buerk was bottom. Did this mean people thought Buerk was telling porkies? I've never understood the cult of mcdonald, and my opinion of him went down considerably after he put his name to the tonight show.


SOME of us remember his reaction to Noel Edmonds about 10 years ago. What an ignorant and egotistical man.

If anyone deserves a knighthood, it should be Michael Buerk. The man is a legend, and if it hadn't been for his epic journalism from Ethiopia in 1984, the world wouldn't have sat up and taken note of the devastation there which prompted the first Live Aid a year later.

The menu screen on BBC One is so boring to look at. Hideous bright red background with skinny white text. Ughh.

And why does BBC ONE Wales always play the same music over the menu? It's the most boring music ever!
