Daybreak relaunch with Lorraine and Aled

I much prefer Lorraine and prefer to see less of Kate. However I have to say Kate's reports from Syria this were were very. Perhaps that is where she is best suited, on the road reporting

ITV Programming Thread

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think they even live in Britain so why should they be allowed to enter the show. It's a bit like having an American representing Britain in Eurovision.

You mean like Katrina & The Waves.

Sky News: Presenters & Rotas

On Last night's Sky News either Kevin or Andrew mentioned Marc Longhurst had a new job. Do we know what this is?

Sky News: Presentation Discussion

I agree don't think Stephen is the best presenter for Sunrise. I much preferred it with Marc.

I have found myself watching less of sunrise and late night sky news mainly because of the continuous newspaper reviews. IMO it is now overkill and lazy.

Daybreak relaunch with Lorraine and Aled

To be honest any name or branding will not make a difference, viewers want a quality programme in the morning.

Please explain to me how Daybreak isn't a quality programme...

Why don't I get you going:

World exclusive yesterday that has been used by media outlets worldwide with Emma O'Riley the Lance Armstrong whistle blower who he named in the Oprah interview on the morning after the airing of said interview. Comprehensive coverage of the UK's weather situation presented in an informative but also at times a fun way. At times I can see how getting Rylan to present the showbiz for example might not float everyones boat (fair enough) but to suggest that Daybreak isn't a quality programme is wrong.

Daybreak still has the core GMTV correspondents such as Richard Gaisford et al and his excellent reporting is still of a high quality on Daybreak. The look of the show (yes a big nod to GMTV, which a lot of people on this forum want to call it anyway) is polished, excellent camera work and lighting, well produced live music performances and good journalism from experienced and talented people. Daybreak and Lorraine proved they can handle breaking news as we saw this week with the helicopter crash.

Daybreak or GMTV were never intended to be hard hitting news and current affairs vehicles, they are/were populist news magazines that appeal to the viewer of a channel like ITV.

I get that it might not tick every box for every person watching but to suggest that it lacks quality is frankly ignorant.

I didn't say Daybreak was not a quality program. I was saying viewers are not interested if it is called TVAm, GMTV or daybreak all they want is a quality programme

ITV to resurrect Through the Keyhole with Keith Lemon .... Shocked

That is a shame. Another show destroyed by the character Keith Lemon. Is he really that popular?

Mark Austin is in Basra. So one wonders if he will be presenting from their for the relaunch.

Daybreak relaunch with Lorraine and Aled

Knowing Daybreak they have probably flown Louis Spence out to do the in depth interview,
