BBC National News: Presentation

RDJ posted:
Anyone just see the abysmal end to tonights news a few minutes ago. The closing shot started as normal only for the camera to spin round and show Anita McVeigh stood in the dark rehearsing her scripts. Very embarassing!

Yeah I just saw it there! Was it just the NC or BBC1 aswell? Pretty poor to be honest

Oops! A pound in the swear box from nick higham I think after his news 24 slip of the tongue at 3.30. You'd think people would have got used to it now. How long has it been since the change?

The NC has just done this at the end of the five but this time they're using different angles from the original shot and they've also turned the desk light off-very nice!!!

BBC News: Presenters & Rotas

Steve posted:
Worth a mention that the News Channel is doing its own thing this morning to cover the IOC meeting - not sure when it split from Breakfast. And guess who's presenting on the NC...!

The News Channel split at 0730 and breakfast gave the usual link just an hour earlier but for some reason the NC showed BBC London News before it went to TIm in the studio and there was just a quick shot of going back to Breakfast before the sting started.

I know this had probably been asked before but what goes out on BBC World from 2130-2200? Also does world show the programmes that the NC does in the second half of the hour through the night?

Coronation Street

Either Norris closed the shop very late or that was a party which ended very early. Also after deciding to turn it into her hen night and everyone singing happy birthday fiz ended up in Maria's. They were plugging away with mentions of Piers Morgan and Dermot O'Leary. How would the gay guy from the gym (can't remember his name) know where Jason lived and that there was a party on? A rather strange episode-they're good fun every now and then tho

Oops.

This report was shown on the 6 and 10 o'clock news and World News America, and it's being repeated every hour on the BBC news channel. But it appears no-one at the BBC has noticed and re-edited the VT yet. How embarassing for her.

Are we talking about her nipples?

Don't he have a home to go to? He always seems to be on, when I switch on.

Probably killing time between shifts. What is he doing?

Good to see Tim back on form-double shifts one after the other! What's the betting he did BBC World earlier and will be on screen somewhere before lunchtime tomorrow? He must really need the money!

Is it me or is Fiona a bit croaky tonight?

Newsreading Easy - Wogan

Newsreaders do interviews once every 6 months

It's rare for a news bulletin not to include a live interview of one sort or another.

I think the point which was trying to be made (well the way I took it anyway) is that interviews other than with reporters are rare on national bulletins. It's slightly more common to see a medical expert interviewed on the 1 but other than that the six/ten only goes to it's own reporters
