News at Five was Huw in Westminster and Louise in the studio and on the 2-5 shift was Matthew from Westminster and again Louise in the studio and no one was at westminster for the news at six.


Tim reporting from Westminster tonight - can anyone else name occasions where Tim has presented on location?

Also I do like Louise and Matthew presenting together!


Tim's done location when soldiers have been flown home and also from the financial sector during banking "issues"

Any idea who is doing the news on Christmas Day? As far as I can remember Jane Hill did both Christmas Day and New Years Day last year, or am I getting confused?



That might have been the year before...it was George that did both last year. I think it might be Sophie on one of them...


Ah yes...you're right, I got confused. If Sophie did one I'd imagine it being New Year since she has a young family? Jane could possibly be on Christmas or perhaps Kate? I wouldn't think it would be Louise if she's doing breakfast on the 26th. Who usually does NC over Christmas/New Year. I wouldn't like to be stuck in a studio at the turn of the year! Who has this rubbish task?

Geraint Vincent still does field reporting regularly rhough. Sky have already started to do this with correspondents such as Sarah Hughes, Jayne Secker, Matt Smith etc making the step up to be presenters...........and good ones at that


The BBC have been doing this recently aswell with people such as Carole Walker, Sangeeta Myska (sp?) and theres more but my brain is still asleep.

Im pretty sure James Lansdale and Reeta Chakrabati have also presented aswell. For the BBC I can see Lorna Gordon, and Kim Ghattas (sp?) becoming anchors.

I agree with most of the ones above aswell.

Tonight had to be one of the funniest episodes in a while. Both the birth and ice-cream van scenes had me laughing away! Good use of pat and peggy talking about their scattered families aswell.

Yeah I just saw it there! Was it just the NC or BBC1 aswell? Pretty poor to be honest


Indeed it did happen on BBC1 as well.


I think the idea of some kind of spin or movement of the camera is a good one but just without including the NC presenter. Perhaps some knd of zoom out shot?
