Very good remixes Sam. You could be the new David Lowe
Could you send me a clean version of those mixes, please?

As you say you are a fan, i've put together a small mix for you, obviously I can't and wouldn't even want to give the clean files out, but instead of teasing you - i've just heavily edited the files and reduced the bitrate.
Just a sample, hope it is a taster of what you like, Sam
MP3 1 >> 2003 Breakfiller & Headline Bed
MP3 2 >> 2003 Headline Recap, Close, Special Close, Opening Titles
Kind Regards, Sam

The only thing I don't like is that they still use the voiceover "This is BBC World - putting news first."

Very nice new countdown and good remix of the music. The clock is now on the bottom right. It finishes with the BBC World logo and the words "Putting News First."The only thing I don't like is that they still use the voiceover "This is BBC World - putting news first."

I don't understand why they didn't use Bill to present that News Special. I mean do they really have to send Jon Sopel, Bill Turnbull and George Alagiah to New Orleans? Aren't two reporters perfectly enough? IIRC Bill only presented the Six O'Clock News from there and didn't appear on News 24 or any other bulletin.

Secondly on Lunchtime Look North there was a local weather forecast from Jay Wynne followed by the national weather with Jay Wynne. It looked quite odd, did everyone have this?
If there isn't a regional weather presenter I think they just use the presenter in the weather centre who pre-records the forecast. On this morning's Breakfast we had Helen Willets in Yorkshire who (IIRC) was doing the weather before Breakfast on N24.
No it was Carol Kirkwood, in Edinburgh who did the Breakfast weather.
Just read it again, please.

It certainly won't be Julian Worricker. He reported for Radio 4 from Sri Lanka yesterday.

Breakfast - Simon McCoy & Sarah Campbell
09.00 - 13.00 Phil Hayton & Karin Giannone
13.00 - 16.00 Tim Willcox & Liz Pike
On now...Jon Sopel & Louise Minchin
Chris Eakin won't be on later as he's been doing the nationals on BBC1 today. As Simon & Tim have both already been on, I'd imagine it will be Julian Worricker tonight, unless they bring in Peter Dobbie earlier and maybe get Stephen Cole to do the late shift.

The on-screen look hasn't changed, just the music.
To give you an idea
Lovely, thanks very much. I like it, sounds good and unlike the previous version sounds quite marketable.
Yes, thank you Tim!

BBC Breakfast falls off the air
I turned on at 7 and the sound was really bad, you almost couldn't hear Bill and Natasha. Opening titles and Julia Botfield's bit seemed fine though. After the opening headlines the top story was done by the news presenter (Sarah Campbell). After it they cut back to Bill and Natasha who then apologized for the sound problems.

Maybe Bill was just on holidays.

Also interesting that Simon McCoy presented Breakfast Mon-Fri this week but Bill was on today. Normally they would have used Bill as replacement for Dermot, wouldn't they?Maybe Bill was just on holidays.

AFAIK David Lowe composed the theme music for "The World". But I'm not sure.
