Sorry, I had to edit my post, it should not be "now screens" but "no screens".

No definitly not. The background image filled the whole background and there were no screens on it.

Is it a particularly dark studio?
Yes, quite dark with a red background with white letters ("SPORT"). Looks like the standby "BBC News" logo on the CSO screens in the World studio just that instead of "BBC News" there's written "SPORT"
