Coronation Street

The entrance to the Corrie studios masquerading as a leisure centre on today's first ITV3 episode.

Is that the same entrance that later became the entrance to Carla Connor's flat?

Yes it is. They even told us about how they used it for that and put up a fake intercom panel for it when we went on the tour in 2015.

Yeah wasn't all red to match Iceland back in the day?

Stars In Their Eyes is Back (Again)

dbl posted:
I thought Harryโ€™s version was good.

His version killed any nostalgia I had for the show.

Sorry you feel that way. But some of us did like it.

No many though to be fair, it was awful, hence why it was axed.

Saturday Night Takeaway 2020

TVMan posted:
They could probably do the show without an audience, especially as next weeks show contains the pre recorded Bradley Walsh undercover

I don't think it would be the same at all, great show tonight back on top boys.

Doctor Who - Season 12

Am I the only one who didn't think this series was anything special? I liked the last series but this current one hasn't done much for me.

I also haven't really warmed to Yaz or Ryan, but I do like Graham but then I liked Clara and not many did so what do I know ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sesame Street in the UK

It was on Channel 4 in the very early 90s as I was on half days in primary school and I remember watching it at around lunchtime

I loved it, but maybe I'm older than you lot Laughing

I remember it from Channel 4 too. Would it have been year-round? I'm trying to think if it would have been something I'd have caught in that mismatched bit between the English and Scottish school holidays.

That pinball number bit was a favourite - music by the Pointer Sisters. I think Sesame Street probably does a lot more of the celebrity cameos (largely for the benefit of parents) than much of the rest of north American children's TV that makes it over here.

Must have been 1990-1991 maybe when I use to sit and watch it with my lunch ๐Ÿ˜‚

We use to be able to pick up HTV and S4C which was handy if you missed brookside on channel 4 back in the day ๐Ÿ˜‰

CBBC Channel

Deadly 60 is returning to CBBC next week. Itโ€™s the first regular series in 8 years. CBBC is returning quite a few programmes recently. Crackerjack, obviously, Deadly 60 now and then a comedy called All at Sea, which aired from 2013-14, began repeating about 9 months ago. I wonder what other programmes they would consider bringing back?

I wouldn't mind seeing XChange come back since it was like a Saturday Morning show on the weekday.

It was better when it first started out as a morning show for the school holidays on CBBC TWO and One etc.

Good Morning Britain in 2020

Imagine how appealing a non-news based breakfast show would have been in the last few years.

Greg James seems my go-to breakfast choice these days - it's not news based but it's a much better way to start the day than Breakfast or GMB. Plus despite the Newsbeat bulletin being a Newsbeat bulletin (i.e. dumbed down), from that alone you probably get a more comprehensive look at the news than on GMB.

I have not listened to Radio 1 Breakfast Show in years - I must try it tomorrow morning.

It's a good listen and so is Matt and Mollie, and I'm not just saying that as I was on it over Christmas Wink

National Television Awards

I also liked the old theme they used, and I agree I also liked the TV Logos in the opening.
