We had the Jerrold box when it was Nynex and when it become C&W and I remember Pay Per View movies were just starting to come on to C&W, then we swapped to Sky Digital as we noticed that Sky seemed far more advanced then C&W/Ntl in our area at the time.
I stuck with Sky and then when we moved house BT Wanted a stupid amount of money for being connected in the new house and NTL said we will do it for free (As I've always had Cable Broadband well before that it was AOL dial up).
We go NTL Phone and BB but kept Sky which was on Sky+ by then, we did go back to NTL around the time TV Drive came and they gave us the big black box above and the guy who installed it told us they were always crashing and to ring up and ask for a new silver one which we did.
Then we got V+ when it became virgin but at some point went back to sky, we still have the basic tv package with Virgin but never really use it, but tbh we have got the newer tivo box as they were saying we could get one for free and self install which I did, I have used it and it is so much better then my nan's (she has the old massive tivo box) but our main tv is now with Sky Q.

We had Nynex as a kid, I'm sure I remember them coming round the day Granada Plus launched as they had to do something with the box to get the Granada Sky Broadcasting channels. We had the Jerrold box when it was Nynex and when it become C&W and I remember Pay Per View movies were just starting to come on to C&W, then we swapped to Sky Digital as we noticed that Sky seemed far more advanced then C&W/Ntl in our area at the time.

I'm guessing that was when they started showing the same shows everyday all week to try and copy Nick and Disney etc? Yeah I don't think it lasted all year, maybe about 3 months.
Children's BBC/CBBC on Nickelodeon (1996-99)
2001 was the striped era. A scheduling technique introduced by Janie Grace who came from Nickelodeon who had been doing it for ages. It worked for Nick, it could work for CITV.
Problem: Nickelodeon airs many US shows. Which are typically anywhere up to 26 episodes a season so you can run it weekdays for (say) just over five weeks. CITV shows were often 13 (some were less). So you burnt through shows like there was no tomorrow.
Can't be sure how long that lasted for, think it was meant to be a year long experiment but I'm sure it didn't last that long, seem to recall 4 months? If that? Then they went back to the "normal" way of doing things.

Forgot all about that idea, I do think would a CiTV Channel have been better if it launched in the 1998+ era of CiTV with Stephen and Danielle etc.
Children's BBC/CBBC on Nickelodeon (1996-99)
The CITV channel was initially going to be a joint venture with Nickelodeon called INK (ITV Nickelodeon Kids) with the two companies sharing programming, but ITV eventually decided it would be sustainable to go it alone (having previously ruled it out due to the already saturated market).

No, I don't think you quite get it. The idea is their artwork will be projected on to the ITV logo, similar to the very first ITV Creates ident.
It does say on the website you can download the logo for the kids to print off and colour in.
ITV 2019 idents and presentation - ITV Creates
Has anyone checked out #ITVKidsCreate on twitter?
I don't think people quite get it looking at the submissions so far, people are just sending in their kids artwork without the ITV logo or anything even related to ITV in the artwork.

Here in Granadaland they are name checking the one presenter who is presenting that night. So far it has either been Lucy Meacock or Tony Morris who are the two main anchors.
Before this they used to name check only when Lucy and Tony presented together. Otherwise it would be a generic announcement for Granada Reports In The North West.
It does make me wonder why they can;t always address whoever is presenting but they may already have recordings for just Lucy or Tony.
I thought it sounded a bit cut from the normal double name check on tonight's "with Tony Morris"

Just wondering how the regional news announcements are going as generally speaking here at least they usually have a variation namechecking the main presenting pair or just something generic. Are they using variations just name checking one host?

Yeah we had a local breakfast show host leave after 6 years and he was gutted as they were presenting from home on his last day.
The One Show
I can't help but feel Matt Baker should have held off his final One Show edition until he was able to be in the studio for a proper send-off with Alex Jones, rather than the way they've done it with him self-isolating at home and Alex talking down the line to him through a fuzzy connection.
I appreciate that it's probably a contractual thing that is specific to today, but still. It's a goodbye, but it doesn't feel like a proper goodbye, if that makes sense.

Yeah nothing has topped these and the theme tbh, I liked Greg's version but the one after that with Trixie Tucker was a no no
When Neighbours updated their theme tune from the original iconic one as seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pyph6YY94WQ Andi Peters during his Broom Cupboard days made a big song and dance about it and he used to mime the lyrics as the opening titles were being played during BBC1 broadcast rather than CBBC. He also managed to track down the singer for a telephone interview and yet nothing is on You Tube (of all things!) I think it was around April 1993 from memory.
Never seen those credits with the photo frame shot before.

Is it me or does that theme not fit with the titles? I'm not sure it reminds be of that awful winner version they had a few years ago.
Neighbours
New version of the Neighbours theme song launches tomorrow. Sung Bonnie Anderson who plays Bea in the show.
