The location strap is semi-transparent, and guess what?
It lines up with the split-screen (just about).
Maybe they read this forum?

I'm guessing the statement made at the airport has been embargoed to be broadcast exactly at the moment when Kember arrives home. The idea is probably so as to take the focus off him meeting his family members, but the news channels will just show both in split-screen.

Quite a few holiday-entitlement schemes run from 1st April, so maybe people are using up their allowances while they can? Or... it's just a coincidence.

First mocks I've published online - essentially it's a revamp for News 24, with a smaller tower, clearer(?) graphics and slightly smaller headlines. What do you think?http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/images/cdoidge/2006/03/21/1.jpg?maxWidth=650

Is it literally a case of getting a journalist or broadcast assistant to tweak the graphics, because I find it hard to believe a graphics designer would make such enormous howlers.

I think they've gone back to the old logo, with smaler |B|B|C| and larger "NEWS 24", but the trouble is they've stretched it, so the |B|B|C| is far too wide and the whole logo isn't centred properly either. It looks so bad I wouldn't be surprised if we saw last week's set back again. Is it literally a case of getting a journalist or broadcast assistant to tweak the graphics, because I find it hard to believe a graphics designer would make such enormous howlers.

Maybe the balcony in the Mailbox would work - where they do the Politics Show in the Midlands?
The One Show with Adrian Chiles and Nadia Sawalha

Ten O'Clock News presenter Huw Edwards has signed a new five-year deal with the BBC, giving him his own show on BBC News 24 as part of the corporation's ongoing assault on Sky News.
From 10 April, News 24 will introduce the Five O'Clock News with Huw Edwards which will go up against Jeremy Thompson's Live at Five on Sky News.
The hour-long bulletin will feature in-depth discussions with MPs, big-name newsmakers and is, say BBC insiders, an attempt by Edwards to establish himself as a hard-hitting interviewer.
News 24 controller Kevin Bakhurst told Broadcast: "Huw knows the BBC is serious about News 24 and putting our top talent on the channel. He was keen to have a role in that."
Also from 10 April, News 24 will simulcast BBC1's 1pm and 6pm bulletins, creating an "all-star" line-up between 5pm and 11pm featuring Edwards, Natasha Kaplinsky, George Alagiah, Ben Brown and Emily Maitlis.
Bakhurst said he would "do everything possible" to stay ahead of Sky News, whose ratings have dropped since a big-budget relaunch last October.
