BBC News 8pm 90 seconds slot
A number of regions hired people just to do the 8pm bulletins. I remember seeing the adverts go out.

News Studios in Broadcasting House
If anything, I'd guess there would be more studios needed than envisaged in 2004. The Arabic and Farsi channels will presumably need their own space.

Also, much of it was less 'comedy' and more 'what a sad state it's in'.
BBC Four Screenwipe
I didn't think it was one of the best Screenwipes I'd seen. News is one of those things that's maybe too easy to parody, especially since the dawn of rolling news. Also, much of it was less 'comedy' and more 'what a sad state it's in'.

Changes in Wales - Sara Edwards to leave
The editor of ITV Wales will be peeved - he was very proud of his main presenting pair and their national stints. I wonder what the Beeb have promised her to get her to move? Is there room for another Welsh girl on the BBC Breakfast sofa?

Must be for the money.
ITV Culverhouse Cross
Yeah, ITV Wales has just got itself a shiny new newsroom, which may as well be built-for-purpose. Why they want to move it all again I don't know. They've been doing loads of renovations in the past year.Must be for the money.

Many of the journos hate it.
BBC News - General
In defence of people like Laura, the reports on the 6 and 10 aren't truly the work of the journalist - all the 'creativity' will be devised by a segment producer. Many of the journos hate it.

I disagree strongly. Gavin Hewitt is, along with Matt Frei, one of the best creators of TV News packages in the business. He might not be doing the camerawork, but he creates far more imagery than your usual reporter through his script. He's got gravitas and creativity and I always sit up and listen when one of his reports come on.

I'm not suggesting we go American and have
Flood Correspondents
but it just seems odd to me to have only one correspondent deemed important enough to be the bearer of big news,
and one who I must say rarely adds much to the story.

Has there been a fire alarm / power cut at TVC? Jon Sopel's presenting News 24 from somewhere unusual (BBC London?) and before that we were with Chris Eakin in Gloucester for about 20mins non-stop.(Yes, I know... it took three minutes for 'Submit Post' to work.)
