Anyway, I'm very pleased with this move - Moyles really deserves this promotion and I'm glad he's finally got it. As someone said above, the early morning breakfast show he did (pre-Mills) was brilliant, and hopefully he can recapture some of that early-morning genius along with the improvements he's made over the years in the afternoons. Overall, a good decision, although personally I would have got rid of Cox altogether.
Radio 1
I'd say Moyles is fairly likely to beat o'Connell. Firstly because O'Connell is rubbish, but more importantly because Xfm is a regional station and has a tiny number of listeners compared to R1.Anyway, I'm very pleased with this move - Moyles really deserves this promotion and I'm glad he's finally got it. Sky News Mini re-launch
Hmm.. not sure about the new theme. really don't like the abrupt way it stops at the end. Thing that struck me was whether it is supposed to sound like the theme to Sky Sports News - think there's a few similarities??? Maybe just the same composer.

BBC One O'clock News
Really good mock. Of course, it doesn't match the red studio, but we can blame Anna Ford for that.

"24"
Nope, only the first episode is commercial free, making it about 5 minutes longer (there are still commercials at the beginning and end so it's not a full hour). AFAIK, the BBC are showing it again from about February. About time it got the promotion it deserves to the post-Casualty slot on BBC One?

William's sister shot dead.
Any chance of changing the subject title - neither of the famous tennis-playing sisters have died/been shot - it was their older sister.

BBC News thread
I think NickyS might be suggesting that there are newsroom changes taking place as well - which would be logical if the studio has to expand?

Overall, I was quite impressed with the show. Different use of titles at the beginning and end. Didn't seem to be as many performances this week, but maybe that was just me. But although the performances were good, they weren't very A-list!
Top of The Pops Thread
I thought the talking heads bit about Elton John was very funny, saying how much he loves Top of the Pops and what it means to him. Obviously he doesn't love it enough to perform his number 1 single on it! Admittedly, it's not entirely his single (even if he's the only one credited with it, it's had a hell of a lot of production done on it).Overall, I was quite impressed with the show. I'd like to think that's true, would really give a point to the ident (unlike the others). How about some WWII related ones, with modern "movement" juxtaposed against the history of the background? One in Trafalgar Square would be good as well!
New BBC ONE ident on the way

just a thought... the ident was filmed at H&W in Belfast, would the softly, sadly piano music be some sort of tribute to this place and the history it has (ie the Titanic)?

Also thought that the way they slowed down the picture during the jumps didn't quite work. They seemed to be wanting to use Matrix-style bullet time, but it just looked a bit poor!
