BBC North West Tonight replaced by London News

It's been listed on the Sky EPG as "BBC London News" at least once this week, but I didn't tune in to see what (if anything) happened.

Testcard F & Schools countdown seen on Sky

I reckon they used the Flash recreation from 625. The testcard which followed the countdown had a Windows XP title bar.

BTW, the adverts are played out at set times each hour from Game Network Italty.

New Sky Digital software...coming soon

Well that's not how it works with Panasonic boxes at least. I remember forcing an update almost everyday to get the Personal Planner/A-Z Listings update a few years ago - but in the end the box just updated itself overnight.

New Sky Digital software...coming soon

Even if the new software is available on the Satellite, forcing an update will not necessarily install it onto your box. The software will only appear when Sky send a signal allowing your box to use it.

Testcard F & Schools countdown seen on Sky

The countdown was inbetween LiveWire and Reloaded.

Not sure how the Sunday repeats work anymore, but they always used to be a week behind so you might see it this Sunday. Look for LiveWire and Reloaded on the EPG.

Testcard F & Schools countdown seen on Sky

You were watching "Game" network?

Gezz, do they even show "Games" anymore? I thoguht they had turned into the psycic/Nude chick network.

I avoid it when all that crap is on. There is however a (fairly decent) gaming show on Saturday afternoons, but that's about all thats left.

Other than that Game Network is a very strange operation these days. Despite the UK and Italian feeds showing different programmes, they show the same adverts, so you get Italian adverts. Great idea!

Testcard F & Schools countdown seen on Sky

Was watching Game Network this afternoon, and at around 15:30 they went into the next programme using an “Independent Television Programmes for Schools and Colleges” countdown, complete with music. “Game Network UK” was written under the countdown, as the name of the programme.

A few minutes later a (slightly modified) Testcard F appeared - The clown and blackboard were there, but the girl was replaced by a Game Network presenter.

Interesting, if somewhat bizzare to see a classic countdown/testcard back on TV!

Any news...on EPG reshuffle?

The only confirmed move is Music Choice - moving to 498/499 on the 31st of March.

To be honest I think that's all that's happening - last year when the Entertainment section was reshuffled, most channels were announcing the reshuffle several weeks before it occured.

QVC Analogue text is no more

MTV and VH1 still have a (very) limited text service, which just consists of schedules, which I suppose is handy for the remaining analogue cable viewers without access to an EPG.

Elsewhere, text still exists on: Paramount, Men and Motors, S4C, Travel Channel, TCM, Eurosport, At The Races, Extreme Sports, Racing UK, all EMAP channels, BBC Parliament, CNBC, CNN, Nickelodeon, Sony TV Asia, Zee TV...

Several of the UKTV channels have a BBC "Ceefax has ceased" page.

The Big Soap Head to Head

The outcome, for those interested:

1. Emmerdale - 9.06m / 40.6%
2. Eastenders - 6.27m / 28.1% (second lowest figure ever, says DS).

Despite ITV trying ever so hard to forget that Night and Day ever existed, it amazes me to see it has been sold to so many counties. I know for a fact that its aired in Australia, New Zealand, Bulgaria to name a few, all of which show the programme far more respect than its original broadcaster! Not only have these countries aired the entire series, but they have actually started to repeat it, something I doubt will ever happen in this country thanks to ITV putting a 5 year hold on the rights being sold to other UK broadcasters!

It reminds me of the Sunset Beach situation. It was a big success all over the World - except, unfortunately, America...

Anyone watching Everton vs Man U via DSAT - Is it just me or did it just switch to BBC Two for a few seconds?

It did it on DTT, so one would assume it happened throughout the country, Cable, Satellite, Analogue and DTT

It didn't happen on analogue - just digital platforms it seems.
