Would rather games split on the BBC and ITV than on one single pay TV broadcaster. Good to see the BBC have been authorised to up their bid - last night shows how crucial it is games remain free for all to watch live at the centre of the weekend schedule, not hidden away out of sight.

Or maybe the highest paid entertainers on British TV could come up with something original.
Absolutely fine as a one-off and ticks a nostalgia box but would likely tire very quickly should they do it weekly.
Saturday Night Takeaway 2021
Maybe they could just have it as part of Takeaway every week? It's certainly better than the "hilarious" evil Ant and Dec twin style sketches.

Going up.
They haven't filmed The Masked Dancer yet so it's not going to be able to fill in in April.
What's the date on audiences being allowed back - is it April or later in summer?

ITV Studios Entertainment is now Lifted Entertainment.
Going up.
Masked Dancer is supposedly being stripped across a week but I think it would be much more useful once a week on Saturdays. I assume only the celeb Beat the Chasers episodes will air on Saturdays with the main series stripped again, but it is still an option I guess.

I guess so considering all competitions ended at midnight and every 10 minutes you had 2 minutes of terms and conditions it isn't the sort of show that works on iPlayer. I guess these comps with "voluntary donations" work well for them though considering they were largely at the expense of the regular donation methods which were removed from screen for the show.

I don't think there was even one live sketch or stand up segment last night - even in a pandemic that should be the absolute staple of the show.

Nowadays the closest you get to such things is Phil and Holly getting the giggles - endless cookery shows have replaced weekend morning entertainment and the big primetime shows are formatted to within an inch of their life. Just as the telethons(and Christmas) suffer from the lack of hit sitcoms across the year they also suffer from the BBC just not delivering light entertainment in the way they once did.

I think TV in general has forgotten how to do anarchic entertainment. Back then you had a generation of television that included a weekly telethon on the form of Saturday morning TV, daily entertainment like The Big Breakfast and live Saturday night shows where you felt anything could happen and even a tightly produced smooth running format like Noels House Party felt anything but.Nowadays the closest you get to such things is Phil and Holly getting the giggles - endless cookery shows have replaced weekend morning entertainment and the big primetime shows are formatted to within an inch of their life.
