TV Forum Meetup! - THE RESULTS

If only I didn't have to do my GCSEs. (why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I would be willing to attend a meet-up during the summer. Personal suggestion would be the BBC tour in Manchester. I can say it is pretty good from personal experience. (Here is the point where I contemplate adding a selfie of just-turned-14-me on the BBC Breakfast mock-up set... actually, I don't think you need to see the selfie. Very Happy )

International News Presentation: Past and Present

I love how "restrainted" the NHK World set is. Because some of their domestic sets are "sommat else" Whew!

Yep - and most native Japanese studios are lit to within an inch of their lives...

I would like to see examples of both "sommat else" sets and "lit to within an inch of their lives" sets.

Some videos included are outdated, but they are all still decent.

Thanks for posting some of those sets are amazing. Wow. News Terrace is different as it WBC's plant filled columns and orange backdrop. Its also interesting to note that North America isnt the only part of the world in which CALLSIGNS are used on air, (Japan uses the J-sequence) but its NA use gets frequently ridiculed as if its something soley strangely unique to US stations and it irrelevant. Interesting.

International News Presentation: Past and Present

NHK Newsline, the news bulletin of Japan's NHK World TV, has just rebranded with a new intro and theme.

I first saw it used in November. It was likely launched before then.

Edit: This video was uploaded in October.

Who is Olive Trump?

I'm not sure whether to congratulate you on noticing that or just put my face in my hands and ask, why?

Edit: You know what.

Sit-Up Trio Simulator

Hey guys, sorry I haven't replied to your posts sooner - been getting home quite late from work this past couple weeks.

I think we can all appreciate that you are clearly busy with work. I just want to say that there is no need to feel pressurized to release the next update ASAP. Take your time and make this amazing simulator even better.

Good Morning Britain

They could use the gmb section of the promo as an opening for the program like they did with GMTV

No. Just no.
Trust me, it wouldn't work. Where would it even go?

Would it be possible for a double ticker to be added in the next update. http://www.tvlive.website/media/bidtv/2011/pres2.jpg

I absolutely love the latest version and I just think these additions would make it slightly better. I understand that you have already put a lot of effort into this and I respect that you already have more planned for the next update. I hope you will consider these suggestions. Thank you for all the hard work you have put in and we all hope you will continue to put in, as I'm sure I'm not the only person who has spent a ridiculous number of hours on the simulator. We all just want to see this continue to grow.

Once again, thank you for all your effort and all the best wishes for the future.

Does Pougatch still work for 5 Live?

Yes.

ITV News

"The Calendar Region" is used to appease the good people of Lincolnshire and North Derbyshire who don't like being told they are in Yorkshire

Should be North East Derbyshire. North West Derbyshire gets a choice of up to four regional services while North East Derbyshire can't receive ITV Central because... Derbyshire has to be awkward and hilly (and I don't help by watching West Country and Wales! via Satellite. Obviously!).

Hopefully Daniel will tell you where to stick your pompous stars... Thumbs down

I thought the original comment was rather picky, however, this response is unnecessary. It's these sorts of responses and comments that cause some current members to leave and also deters others from joining. These comments may seem harmless enough, but they can upset others.

I'm sorry but I think a response was necessary so the creator of the simulator doesn't become disillusioned and decide to give up on what is the single best contribution to this section of the forum. If I was him and I received rude / blunt / ungrateful comments, along with the barrage of posts nagging for the next update, I'd be tempted to jack it in.

I understand that. Next time, just think about choosing something to say that gives your POV, whilst not upsetting others. Now I think we should all just move on.
