Big Brother 7

Nikki is one of the funnier characters in this year's show - I couldn't bear to be in her company though.

The way she eats is quite weird. It reminds me of an 80 year old moving her false teeth around her mouth. Not very attractive.

ITV to cut Sports budget, ITV2+1 to launch

Conan-san posted:
urg, +1 channels are the most redundnet wastes of air space ever divised by man, especaily in the light of HDD-Recorders.

Perhaps.

As one of the lucky ones with SkyHD (which has Sky+ functionality), HDD recorders are truly astonishing bits of kit. However, owners of HDD recording systems are still very much in the minority.

ITV to cut Sports budget, ITV2+1 to launch

marksi posted:
For C4 the main reason there wouldn't be a +1 is probably rights based. To a lesser extent for C4 but a greater one for ITV1 would be the question of which region would be on the +1 feed.

It is such a shame that the five main channels do not have a timeshifted version.

For the commercial channels, if there are no rights issues involved (although you seem to think there are and I don't know either way), they could increase the amount of advertising cash they could command by a reasonable degree.

REWARD - £400 - Business Design Package

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

So far, Bail is quite comfortably in the lead as he seems to have understood my brief the best. Not to mention the guy's unarguable talents.

I will declare a winner on Wednesday morning.

Thanks again for everyone's thoughts and contributions - I might not like them all, but I can see the thought and ability in every one.

REWARD - £400 - Business Design Package

http://www.lazyorange.net/junk/md_idea5.jpg

I'm loving the bottom one.

In my mind, I see the "logo" element to the right of the image and the name of the company enveloped by the swirls. Therefore, obviously, the size of the logo in relation to the size of the writing would have to be a bit bigger so that the logo did not touch the top and bottom of the writing. Is that explained so it's actually understandable? Wink

REWARD - £400 - Business Design Package

I'm not too hopeful about Waveform's designs.

I like the direction you're going in, Bail. Excellent work as normal. I am mainly after a development upon the current logo so the ones there aren't quite there yet, but they are very nice. Fancy having another go?

Cheers.

REWARD - £400 - Business Design Package

Fellow TV Forumers, I need a new corporate identity, and I am willing to pay for it.

Just in case you might think this is bogus, ask MrTomServo and Bail - I do actually pay quickly for things. If your idea is good enough, you will get paid £400 by me directly.

What is it I am looking for?

1) A logo design - preferably a development upon the original design done by MrTomServo 4 years ago. To see this logo - click here. I am looking for something perhaps 40% narrower than the original and a bit more elaborate.

2) Business card and letterhead design based upon what you come up with for number 1

3) A website design closely based upon the current design at Meridian Delta. It must be 750 pixels across and look good when centred.

4) If possible, the logo design must be available to me in TrueType format for easy manipulation.

The logo should not be overly-complex - it should be simple and classy looking.

Here are the two rules to the competition:

1) The original brief of the logo image is all that is needed. It has to be a development on the logo on the Meridian Delta website.

2) The logo must be one colour.

The person who designs the logo I like the most will be asked to design everything else I require.

Once I have picked a winner, I will pay £200 within 3 days. The remaining £200 will be paid upon the completion of a satisfactory web design, stationary design, etc.

Any takers?

Music used on a trailer

I'm absolutely dying to find out the name of the track being used on the "That'll Test 'Em" trailer music (I last saw this on More4 yesterday).

It's a dancey track which has a 20's/30's jazz/dancehall tune playing on it. I'd love to buy it but without the name of the artist or the track, you can appreciate I am a little stuck!

Thanks in advance.

TV Shows that will never see the light of day again

The utterly brilliant "Profit" on the old Sky 2 in 1996.

Just been released on DVD and bought it - absolutely stunning programme and a complete shame it did not go past 8 episodes.

U.S., U.K. Waged War on Iraq Because of Oil, Blair Adviser Says

London, May 1 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. and U.K. went to war against Iraq because of the Middle East country's oil reserves, an adviser to British Prime Minister Tony Blair said.

Sir Jonathan Porritt, head of the Sustainable Development Commission, which advises Blair's government on ecological issues, said the prospect of winning access to Iraqi oil was ``a very large factor'' in the allies' decision to attack Iraq in March.

``I don't think the war would have happened if Iraq didn't have the second-largest oil reserves in the world,'' Porritt said in a Sky News television interview.

Opponents of the war, including some members of Blair's Labour Party, have said that the conflict was aimed at securing Iraqi reserves to benefit Western economies and oil companies. U.S. and U.K. leaders have repeatedly rejected that, saying the war began because Iraq held illegal weapons and threatened other countries.
