Jerry Springer - The Musical

thegeek posted:
Channel 4 News spoke to a bishop outside TVC, who was moaning on about it..

"Have you seen the programme?"
"Er.. no. But even the Evening Standard are calling it the most blasphemous program ever!"

That'll be why the Evening Standard gave the stage version an Evening Standard Theatre Award.

Only about three protestors. Just about equals the number of reporters.

I notice that Spotlight's Simon Hall has already been on News 24, and is about to do a live into the Ten.

Anyone know if Frank is coming back to the BBC?

Erm, I really think this is one of the least important questions for him at the moment!

I disagree. Surely if he loves his job then getting back will be an important part of his rehabilitation. Having a target like that will help him a lot. It is a long process to be taken one bit at a time but a long term goal will help.

Just because he can't walk shouldn't stop him working.

The most recent update on Frank's condition said he was looking forward to coming back to work next year.

...Guto Harri is returning to Westminster from Rome in January...

Is he returning to the News 24 Chief Political Correspondent job, or is he going back to Westminster as just a normal Political Correspondent, as it was discussed here a few months ago that in effect Guto Harri would be giving up the News 24 Chief Political Correspondent position if he did his secondment in Rome?

I don't know, is the short answer. There are other changes coming up at Millbank, though, because Jonathan Beale is going to Washington in the new year, as State Department Reporter.

Arrow Kate Sanderson is reportedly leaving the BBC for FIVE.

That's not a report, that's a fact. It's was announced a few days ago.

Things you may not know:

Guto Harri is returning to Westminster from Rome in January. Jeremy Bowen will cover Rome for the next six months.

The Washington Correspondent, Tom Carver, is leaving BBC News, to take up a consultancy job in America.

The BBC's Security Correspondent Gordon Corera

Off topic but is Paul Adams the new Diplomatic Correspondent because it said under his name on News 24 a few days ago or was that a mistake?

Paul is now News 24's Dip Corr.

This Forum Is A Waste of Space

I seem to recall that the new World set was indicated on the menu page, in the second line of the topic title (albeit somewhat cryptically).

Maybe the way forward is for individuals with particular enthusiams to be given the role of updating that second line, to indicate when something major was being discussed. That way everyone would know what was going on, and we'd still avoid having dozens of new threads started all the time, often duplicating others.

Prince William Interview

Nick Harvey posted:

The BBC Royal Correspondent, Peter Hunt, did the interview.

Peter Hunt?

Another one I've never heard of.

Whatever happened to Nick Witchell and the woman who sounds just like Jennie Bond and has the awful blonde hair that looks like a haystack?

Peter is directed mainly at radio. He's often on the R4 Six O'Clock news and PM etc. He covers other things too, particularly big set piece events.

Nick Witchell is still around, covering the Royals for TV, but again he does other things too.

The woman you're thinking of may be June Kelly. She covers the Royal beat on occasions when Peter and Nick aren't around.

Prince William Interview

Brekkie Boy posted:
Who was responsible for the Prince William interview today?

I've only catched snippets of news but know a full interview has been shown on both BBC News 24 and ITV1 (Tonight).

Was it the same interview shared across the channels, or did they do them seperate?

The BBC Royal Correspondent, Peter Hunt, did the interview, but it was pooled for all broadcast outlets.

(Oh, and it's caught, not catched.)

He used to do The World at One on BBC Radio 4, as well as PM on Radio 4, and I think something early in the morning on Radio Five Live. I always assumed him to be a much older chap somehow.

I don't think Julian has ever done WatO or PM. He's been at Five Live since 1991, doing various shows, including Breakfast. He's been spotted doing a few HardTalks recently too.
