BBC1 Christmas

I posted quite alot of captures on page 12 of the first night.
I'll add 1 capture from each region's news Ident to this Post.:

NE And Cumbria used it at lunchtime with no sound due to problems as there was no headline sound.

The last of the regular idents to be shown on BBC1 at 5:25PM in England for the news this evening was "Acrobats". Suprised that it wasn't a regional ident - but then I realised because the main news and Look North were interconnected - shame.

Then after the weather came the usual "NEXT" slide showing "Can't Sing Singers follows", which was then followed by the first sting - five children in a row and the one on the right bounces towards the row, while the one on the left bounces away from it. Two Christmas trailers then followed - one for "Harry Potter" and the other for "What not to Wear".

Finally, the ident was shown at 5:45. Typically, the Scottish narrator made no hesistation of speaking immediately, thus there was only 2 seconds of full audio of the ident before it was dubbed for her to speak. She didn't even mention the new ident.

Wales played Acrobats at 5:25pm as I mentioned earlier on Page 11
On the 5:45pm junction the announcer talked all the way though the ident.
Edit: The News is at 10pm, so It will be the first time to see if they have a pre-news ident like last year.

Acrobats is the last BBC One Wales Ident assuming the xmas one launches at the next junction.

The new ident will apparently be shown first on on Blue Peter, 17th December and will launch on 18th December. It will contain the sparkle effect over the box.

so ... in terms of bbc english regions opportunities to use them, they'd have monday - friday of this week (1.00, 6.00, 6.30, 10.00)

maybe its down to each region to edit a version for themselves. bbc midlands have been quite good in recent years at using xmas idents. doesn't look too hopeful for the bbc regions that haven't yet put a tree up though

Radio Times / Christmas Listings

One of the local "Stars" Paper shops are selling the 11th to 17th, but have a big box stand with the different magazines on. TV Times hasn't made it there yet! He said they should be getting them in on the 7th.

Well Done Col. I buy the TV Times and I think its nice to know that someone I know helps produce it.
