It looks like this weekend's Africa Business Report will be the last.

Probably part of BBC's plan of further budget cuts by reducing foreign news bureaus...

Royal Wedding - Harry & Meghan

A rather roughly cut compilation/montage of the BBC News Channel and BBC World News coverage of the royal wedding from 0700 to 1930 if anyone is interested... Rolling Eyes

What's wrong with the newsroom at BH today? It seems that the central lighting deck malfunctioned, resulting the center of the newsroom a bit dark... Rolling Eyes You can spot the problem during the bottom of the hour sting and the weekend news opt-out...

Royal Wedding - Harry & Meghan

Not sure which megathread I should post this to, but I've been watching the whole of the royal wedding on BBC World News. So if anyone is interested in what's WN coverage is like, here is a quick summary of it:

Even though the BBC News Channel began their coverage produced by BBC Studios at 9AM, WN did not take the NC output instead they broadcasted 1 hour of their own special coverage. WN joined NC at 10AM and simulcasted their feed all the way. It should be noted that there are a lot of UK channel references on the programme (such as mentioning what's coming up on BBC One) even when the programme is simulcasted.

Following the end of the BBC Studios programme, WN did not opt out for their own adverts, instead, they stayed on the NC output instead and simulcasted their own special coverage with presenters from both channels (Katty Kay, Babita Sharma, and Jane Hill). I assume they did not take the studio feed but the output feed instead because they played the NC countdowns all the way with the WN strap generated by RedBee and the news ticker is identical to that of NC...
*

At some point, there was a 0.5 sec blank screen on WN and it seems that WN central gallery has switched to the studio feed instead of the output feed (Couldn't take a screenshot of that moment).

Throughout the simulcast, WN lower-third had some issues where their lower-third froze and couldn't sync with the NC lower-third...
*

After that basically, WN simulcasts with NC all the way till 6PM. In a nutshell, what you see on NC from 10AM onwards is what you see on WN.

Anyone realized that the theme/BGM for "This Week in History" during main bulletin mid-breaks on WN has changed this week? I kinda missed the old theme...

Seems like BBC World News has a pretty full schedule on Friday... Literally EVERY main newscast is billed "BBC World News's top presenters decamp to Windsor to report on the royal wedding."

Technical hiccups on Afternoon Live 2PM opening just now... After the countdown finishes, the intro failed to play, leading to a brief black screen. After that, a filler was played for about 30 seconds, until the intro plays again with Simon Mccoy sitting behind the desk.

Why do they need an edgy thumbnail for the News at Six and Ten in the EPG?

Victoria Derbyshire programme live from Tottenham today to discuss the problems of gang violence. Instead of the weather balcony, news summaries are carried out in studio B this time, presented by Carole Walker. Oh look at that blurry newsroom background in studio B!

How old is this "Reinventing the 9 to 5" programme? Someone found the TVC astons down the back of the couch and are using them. Since this a tech programme why didn't they just present it as a Click special and use that branding,

I believe that it's not really an "old programme" given the content of the programme is pretty up to date, and that this programme actually debuted on BBC World News in the last 2 weeks. It's just the fact that this programme is produced by the BBC Singapore division, which unfortunately they do not have updated graphics or have enough talent to create their own graphics, so they just dig up some unused backup graphics and managed to put the TVC astons on air.
