Bit unnecessary no? BBC News Fix makes a valid point - why doesn't the text just stretch across so it's legible on smaller screens?
Sorry for adding a bit of humour, I didn't realise UKIP has won an election and banned sarcasm. The answer to the not stretching question is that it was probably an error I mean often when I see it, it is stretched but occasionally mistakes happen. Plus it isn't important text anyway it's just to point out the copyright for the images so it wouldn't matter how large the text is - it's a legal thing.
I don't think you can call that humor...
