In the few minutes I did actually watch I heard the BBC commentator say a line about how many millions of years the volcano that Edinburgh Castle sits on is... yes because the belief in an earth hundreds of millions of years old is a well known part of catholic dogma!

'While there is little consensus among scientists about how the origin of this first microscopic life is to be explained, there is general agreement among them that the first organism dwelt on this planet about 3.5 - 4 billion years ago.' - 2004, International Theological Commission, headed at the time by the current Pope. I think you've got the wrong branch of Christianity.

I haven't caught up with much of the coverage; has there been much time given over to any protesters? Also, is BBC World carrying the coverage, or even the international BBC channels?
